I will remember my pleasant experience at Kefa Cafe forever. I ordered a macchiato and chatted with the owner, Abeba, while she prepared it. She made me feel instantly welcomed, and I learned about the tight-knit Ethiopian community which had sprung up around her cafe over the past 20-something years. First its cute, then the patrons are all at "home" and feel safe enough to invite you in to share their table with you and finally the coffee arrives and its a cup made with love, not enthusiasm ?

I was in DTSS running an errand, had a hankering for breakfast sandwich and stumbled upon this charming cafe. The women who took my order and prepared my food was refreshingly kind, warm, and genuine. The bacon egg and cheese croissant was hot, fresh, and perfectly prepared with REAL ingredients.
