“I ordered two cake slices and a Swiss roll to bring to a dinner and they were all delicious! The cake and frosting are not too sweet, and the fruit flavors taste like fresh fruit. The packaging is cute and makes each cake slice look like a gift. The store has lots of Japanese treats as well as the baked goods, and I will be returning to try more things.“
“Wonderful roaster and coffee spot. The staff are full of personality, a little rambunctious and connect with their customers. The coffee is delicious with a full body. I ordered a pour over drip coffee from their selection of different roasts and I was very happy with my selection. The wait wasn't too long and I got to enjoy the dialogue and atmosphere of the little roasting shop. They might only be open on Saturdays, but it's worth the visit if you're in the area and timing works out.“
“I will remember my pleasant experience at Kefa Cafe forever. I ordered a macchiato and chatted with the owner, Abeba, while she prepared it. She made me feel instantly welcomed, and I learned about the tight-knit Ethiopian community which had sprung up around her cafe over the past 20-something years. I returned the next day and no sooner had I crossed the threshold that Abeba welcomed me by name and recalled my previous order. The coffee and pastries were both of the highest quality, but neither compares to the kindness you will find at Kefa Cafe. The walls are decorated with an enchanting patchwork of photos and documents from the establishment's storied past, connecting customers to a lineage of fellow coffee-drinkers which spans generations and continents. “I've been a resident of Silver Spring for nearly 3 years and have been on the search for a great neighborhood coffee spot that has excellent coffee and an equally great ambiance. I used to enjoy going to Peet's up the street, but sadly it got replaced by Starbucks. I am soo, soo grateful and happy to have found Crave Cafe! It's a bit of a hidden Silver Spring jewel imho and addresses a lot of the things that I look for in a coffee spot.What I like about Crave:- Consistently friendly and welcoming staff- Awesome coffee and espresso drinks (their Americano and Lattes are some of my favs!)- Excellent ambiance with HUGE windows and great natural light- CLEANLINESS - they always seem to keep the tables wiped down and just seem on top of the overall neatness of the venue- An actual coffee shop vibe where people come to either work or hang out in small pairs or groups (as compared to another neighborhood coffee spot that is spilling with people and feels more like a cafeteria!). I LOVE this kind of coffee vibe space!- Free and strong wifi- FREE and plenty of parking in the strip mall parking lot in the back- A great drink and bites menu. I'll admit there are plenty of things on my "To Try" list but I do love all of the bites they offer on the menu and am looking forward to trying those in the near future :)All in all if you are a local or just visiting Silver Spring and are in the mood for a cup of joe, I hope you'll consider supporting this BIPOC woman-owned business. “The almond croissant is unbelievably good- light and flaky and the flavor was wonderful. We sat at one of the cafe tables and I enjoyed the sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella quiche, which they thoughtfully warmed up, and it had a very tasty crust with a creamy filling. My friend had the spinach and cheese croissant which was light and savory. We took home our almond croissants to look forward to the next morning. It was a great place to enjoy good food and unwind. Being at Ooh La La made me feel like I was back in Paris again. Parking is conveniently located door.“

A slight crisp on the outside, a soft and pillowy inside, and a generous dusting of powdered sugar outside.Parking: There’s street parking out front where I usually park. There is also a lot right next to it and a parking garage diagonally across the street.“

“This is my favorite DD in the area. They always get my order right and if there are ever any problems, they are happy to fix whatever it is. “This place might be going through some rennovation because it did not look quite like some of the images on Google, but for such a small space tucked away in the public library, the lox bagel was very good! The barista was working independently on multiple orders at once and she was nice. I did not expect the macchiato and lox bagel to be so good, but both were satisfying!“
“Definitely a hidden gem. Found this café looking for a breakfast spot. The gentleman behind the counter was kind and patient as we figured out what we wanted. I had the smoked salmon sandwich which came with chips and a salad and a latte. The sandwich, salad, and coffee were delicious even if not a typical breakfast combo. Everything we ordered was made to order but the wait time was respectable and gives time to enjoy the eclectic decor. Would absolutely go back again.“
“Ordering coffee is a quick interaction. It can also be profoundly negative or positive, depending on how the staff member taking your order treats you. The staff here were something else. I was greeted so warmly by the barista working the register. He expressed gratitude for being alive and at work, and showed genuine care towards me, saying he hoped I had a great day in a way that made me think "I definitely will have a great day!" It was refreshing to see someone enthusiastically kind, especially in such a stressful job.On top of this pleasant early am interaction, my iced espresso with pumpkin cold foam were delicious.
