This is one of my favorite Starbucks to dine at but service has not been great lately. I go here every morning and today it took me almost 15 minutes to get just a regular cup of coffee. After getting my coffee, I head over to the area to get cream and sugar and there was no dispenser with cream or milk. I notify someone but no one brought it. The barista making the drinks saw me standing there and offer to pour cream in my coffee from the jug. I was not happy about the service.
Always right
On an unusually hot day in May, Alex (the Assistant Manager at the Starbucks at 2315 Randolph Rd, Silver Spring, MD) went above and beyond. He was literally walking around to customers’ tables offering water and checking in to see if anyone needed anything. It didn’t feel performative at all. His kindness was genuine. The store was also spotless. Huge thanks to Alex and the team for making the space feel well cared for.

The Starbucks Coffee Company location offers a cozy and relaxing environment that is wide, comfortable and ideal for unwinding. The space is clean, big and runs well, providing a great spot to take a break and enjoy a good cup of coffee, a Cafe Americano or any drink and snack of your choice. Employees are nice and friendly, and the service can be fast and pretty friendly in the early morning. Partners know what they are doing and the recruiting is solid, making the store a blueprint for other locations. The drive‑through can be tricky to get in and out of, and sometimes the drive‑through is closed, causing people to walk to the only entrance on Randolph Road. When the drive‑through works, people may order a venti cup of ice with an extra splash of vanilla sweet cream, but they must order a drink to get cold foam. Some people feel the need to repeat their order many times, which can be unnecessary. Overall the atmosphere is calm, the coffee is made perfectly to specifications and the location near a gym makes it a good post‑workout caffeine fix.
