It's a new family favorite in Bar Harbor, and I have converted to loving seafood and the raw menu because of the loft! The ahi tuna nachos were a hit all around and a big recommendation to try! “You must eat here! The atmosphere is lovely and laid back. The drinks (and mocktails) are wonderful. The food... the food is fantastic! You can't go wrong with the apps, but the Dilly Pickled Veg is the perfect little zippy snack while you wait for your dinner. The entire dinner menu is truly inspired. The bang bang fried chicken is always a personal go to... but I opted for the Crab BLT tonight and was blown away! My hubby had the Lamb Shwarma and practically licked his plate... the pita alone was a light, fluffy delight. If you order the fries, which you most certainly should, get the garlic aioli... you'll thank me later, it's also good with the lamb. ;)”

“This place is a MUST! Over the week we have been in Bar Harbor we have ate at A LOT of places, Tap & Barrel is hands the best meal I’ve had here by a long shot. Marina was super knowledgeable and gave 15/10 service! You will not regret stopping here and grabbing a bite to eat or even just some drinks!”

“Bagels and english muffin sandwiches were very tasty. Iced Latte and Matcha latte (hot) were good. The matcha was a very dark green matcha and it was not too sweet.

The line was insane so consider to order ahead.”

My pups were greeted and given a bowl of water and enjoyed the smoked turkey off dog menu too! Solid selection of local beers and nice variety of cocktails to choose from too. I would highly recommend checking this place out. There’s also an ice cream shop right next door, if you happen to not be too stuffed after your meal!”

“It was our first day in Bar Harbor and we chose Galyn’s for dinner. It was delicious. We sat on their front porch overlooking the harbor. The food was great and our waitress was so nice; very pleasant. We had the stuffed crab mushrooms, haddock sandwiches and blueberry crisp-a la mode for dessert. Yummy.”

“Acadia perk makes coffee drinks with plant milks (lots of choices). They have a small shop, so getting drinks to go is probably the best option. I also got the blueberry lavender latte with oat milk and my sister got a chai latte. Both were delicious and hit the spot after some disappointing coffee with breakfast this morning.”

“The vegan options for dinner elsewhere on the island looked pretty uninspiring, so I went here and have no regrets. Had the broccolini and mapo tofu. The mapo tofu was a bit atypical, but delicious, and the greens were also good. Great for takeout, and I'm glad some of the revenue goes back to the community. She has an incredible vision and the skill to create stunning tablescapes. I had a general idea of what the table would look like, but she went above and beyond—it was even more beautiful than I imagined. She personalized the entire setup, from fresh flowers to custom name cards, and my guests were so impressed. “The best part about dining at The Terrace Grill is the view across the harbor toward Bar Island. It’s stunning. Next is the service. Our server, Kim, did an excellent job balancing checking on us and giving us space. She paid special attention to details with our order and answered our questions about the harbor and the community. Finally, the food was very good and well presented. My wife had the Blueberry salad with Salmon which was outstanding. I had the fish tacos with grilled haddock and they were quite tasty. The sauce and salsa had excellent flavor. The fish was a little dry. The prices were quite reasonable and I would definitely go back.”

“Come here for the blueberry ice cream, you will not be disappointed! The texture so creamy and dense that it's almost chewy, with a lot of natural blueberry flavor.

I forgot the second flavor we tried (I think it was Maine sea salt caramel?), but it was a bit too sweet for me. My partner liked it though. The texture of that one was almost like caramel sauce.”

“It's an interesting spot. Nice view of the harbor, good for people watching. It's a big place. We ate inside. I'll say, out waiter, I believe his name is Erman, very good waiter. Ok, so drinks we had a Tullamore Dew Old Fashioned. I think it was called an Irish Old Fashioned? Partner ordered a margarita. Both were pretty good. Appetizers, Poutine and Lobster salad. Both were really good. For entrees, we got the Shirt Rib and a Steak. Short Rib was pretty good. Steak was good but a tad over cooked. All in all good spot service and a filling meal.”

“Nice place with very vibrant atmosphere. Very few vegetarian options , the quinoa burger was not available, but salads and hummus plate were good. Other members in our group had fish n chip and chicken salad , and they loved it. Would be good place for sea food lovers. They have some draft beers which are also nice. Overall a good experience in a prime bar harbor downtown.”

“Slice of Eden made our wedding cupcakes last year and they were fantastic! We had half of them made as chocolate with Swiss buttercream icing and half blueberry lemon cupcakes with whipped cream icing. They were a huge hit and gone so fast! We decided to have them make us a small blueberry lemon cake with whipped cream icing for our anniversary this year since we did not have one to save from our wedding. They knocked it out of the park! I can’t say enough good things about this place!”

“Wicked awesome to find a restaurant that has great food, is reasonably priced (for Bar Harbor) and also caters to food allergies! I’ve recently come up with some food sensitivities and can no longer have gluten or dairy, and these guys acted like it was no big deal at all. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!”

The donuts were slightly crispy on the outside which is chef’s kiss on experience. Visit here for a wonderful experience with friendly staff. “Yesterday my daughter and I were excited to take my husband to Blaze as we had such a great experience previously. We had our lab/Pyranese mix Tucker Lee with us. Sam, the bartender greeted us and she proceeded to take our orders/make us drinks. We enjoyed our meal and enjoyed the music next door. Tucker Lee Sat at our feet watching his surroundings and waiting for some treats from us. He let out a little bark 3 times. They were quick minor barks looking to go make friends and he quickly settled back down. No one was near us and no one in the surrounding tables even flinched as we were in a dog friendly town/bar or so we thought. Sam decided she no longer wanted us there. With my drink still half full she told us she was going to get our bill together as she was uncomfortable and that we should not have a reactive dog in public. She then went on to tell us she works with animals. This same dog that apparently made her uncomfortable with a quick minor bark was greeted at other restaurants in Maine with open arms, a bowl of water and lots of petting. He was also greeted in Bar Harbor along the walkways and trails by many people wanting to pet and interact with him. The guy with the parrots had Tucker Lee interact with them. It is her loss and now Blaze's loss. I hope she enjoyed the generous tip I left to ensure the others were compensated as it will sadly be the last time we visit Blaze or recommend it. Great food and drinks is one thing but friendly and decent service is an absolute must. You cannot insult your customers especially their beloved pets. Also if you are going to be a dog friendly bar be sure your bartender greets all dogs with water, a treat maybe and an acknowledgement. Tucker Lee got none of those. Only a judgement on his size. Big dogs deserve love too!”

“This cute coffee shop has the best chai in Bar Harbor. We needed a hot drink after 5 hours whale watching (no whales btw):, so we were looking for something to lift our moods. This charming cafe was exactly what we were looking for. They are open late which was nice to see, and their drinks were really good!”
