Veranda at Balance Rock Inn offers a dark, elegant atmosphere perfect for a special occasion. The beef yakitori is flavorful, the sage dumplings with rabbit confit are amazing, and the scallops are cooked to perfection. The bread sprinkled with salt and herbs is a favorite among diners. Despite a rocky start with slow service, diners found the food superb, especially the duck and the cremeux. The mussels are delicious, the steak loin with bearnaise sauce is cooked perfectly, and the pea risotto is very good. Diners also enjoyed the smoked trout dip and the layer cake with burnt honey ice cream for dessert. The ambiance is cozy, especially on the patio with fire lamps and blankets provided.
