Nice clean & friendly place. This sandwich shop was recommended to me by my son in law, sonny delano, as he used to deliver supplies to them. So when i found myself actually living in Calais, i thought i'd give them a try. Time to check them out again i guess, since it's been quite awhile!

The lobster subs are great and the price can't be beat! I also loved the old country music they were playing when I stopped in. I was sad that they were closed when I tried to visit on Columbus Day, but I hope to get back to Calais for another great sandwich someday.

Fresh rolls and fresh ingredients... definitely a "must visit" lunch stop in beautiful Calais right near the border to Canada. We loved the nostalgic memorabilia in this place; they've actually got an ol' fashioned coin phone on the wall ??

Saw a sign outside for lobster rolls, so I did a quick U-turn and went back and man, am I glad I did! The lobster was delicate, the bread was fresh and very soft, and altogether extremely delicious! Be warned, though, that it does come with onions, if you don't like them (forgot to ask). Still tasty, though!
Sandwich Man has been around since I came remember. Though times have changed the amazing sandwiches have not. The prices are well worth it and won't scare you away from ordering because it's too expensive .

The fact that I am asked to tip before getting my food is just ridiculous. What happens to my food if I don't tip? I won't be back unless this practice is discontinued. This tipping culture is out of hand and unless we speak up it will get worse.

Have driven by but finally stopped. Will definitely be back, opened in 1977 and likely has not changed but no need to do that. Fresh sub rolls. Great choices. Turkey deluxe came with real turkey and stuffing and cranberry. So much better than franchise places. Friendly service and cheaper than the franchise down the road. Not fancy. Plenty of charm. Cold- might not want to be there on a winter day.
