Amazing fried clams.
The food, atmosphere, and vibes were all incredible! Wife had the ahi tuna, which was seared perfectly and she said it was some of the best fish she’s had in forever. High praise coming from Portland! I had the tofu stir fry which was also amazing. One of the better dishes I’ve had on the Blue Hill Peninsula, especially for a quick lunch.

Incredibly horrid experience this morning that made me change my review from a former 5 stars. I ordered pancakes and sausage, and they were very friendly. I do not usually eat syrup with my pancakes, and so I did not order syrup. As usual when you purchase pancakes from a restaurant, they brought out syrup.
They charged me $3 for syrup that was not ordered. I felt cheated, and I should have asked for a refund of it. I did not, and that was my mistake.

The Breeze & Castine Variety offers great food, fresh seafood, and an extensive menu in a charming corner location. The Thai curry with local seafood (scallops) is a unique pairing, and the lobster rolls and fish and chips are delicious. The blueberry pancakes are a must try, and the SeaBass is simply outstanding. Portion size is reasonable. The service is extremely friendly, quick, and attentive, with a lovely wait staff. The laid-back local vibe makes guests feel at home. The restaurant can accommodate large groups. It is BYOB, which is appreciated. Homemade pies, including a blueberry pie to take home, are terrific. The hospitality and sheer talent of the Chef and Kermit are highlights. Castine should be proud to showcase this establishment.
