Pedro’s is a Kennebunkport treasure you’ll want to visit twice (or more)!

Pedro’s is the kind of place that pulls you in with its charm and keeps you there with its people. My partner and I visited twice during our 3-day trip to Kennebunkport and we even tried for a third visit on our way home! Sadly, it wasn’t open for lunch that day, but that just means we’ll be back next time we’re in town.

From the moment we walked in, the vibe was fun yet relaxed. The restaurant is filled with religious statues and mementos that give it a unique, eclectic atmosphere - cool, fun, and totally unforgettable. We sat at the bar both nights and ended up closing it down, chatting with every bartender like we were longtime friends. Each one was warm, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with.

Meeting the owner, Norm, was a highlight. He’s the kind of person who makes you feel like you’re part of the Pedro’s family. His passion for the place is obvious, and it shows in every detail, from the decor to the drinks to the incredible food.

If you’re visiting Kennebunkport, Pedro’s is an absolute must. We’ll be back next time we’re in town and will probably be sitting at the bar again until last call.

Used to be great. Now every time I’ve tried to go they are closed. Staff is not what it used to be either.

Arrived well before kitchen was closing - to be told by host that they were out of food, could only order drinks at the bar. Weird. All food? Zero back-up beans and rice on a weekend? At least push the burgers and fries as an option and sell some drinks, come up with new options from what you have…. Place looks really cute with indoor and outdoor seating. Will update if we try again…

Went in with high expectations, atmosphere was inviting and staff seemed friendly. Chips and salsa were great unfortunately the watermelon margarita tasted watered down, elote corn tasted frozen, and tacos were bland and greasy.

The restaurant was very dog friendly on porch. The staff is super friendly. . The food was way too salty from chips to entrees. The portions are good size. Sadly I only ate 6 bites of my food. I think they should narrow down menu more to focus on quality and more authentic flavors.

The food was not good. I got the Mexican street chicken taco. They were room temperature, very dry and missing the salsa verde and the pickled onions, $17. The chicken was so dry I picked most of it off. It was supposed to be a corn tortilla but was flour instead that had been heated so much it was dry and crispy. My daughter got the rice bowl, it was both flavorless and too spicy. I didn’t realize until after I left that my tacos were actually missing ingredients otherwise I maybe would have brought it up, but honestly we waited so long for our food we both ate enough to be full even though we didn’t enjoy it.

We stopped by around midday to ask if we could come back for dinner at 7:30 PM. We were clearly told “no problem, we have space.”

When we showed up that evening, we were flatly turned away, with the excuse that the kitchen was understaffed. No apology, no alternative, nothing.

Frankly, if they knew staff shortages were a risk, they should have said so earlier. We wouldn’t have planned our evening around this place.

It’s disappointing and unprofessional — especially in a tourist town where people rely on basic honesty and communication.
