It was absolutely wonderful. The staff were great and the food was better. I had the blackened salmon and my wife had the lobster ravioli with scallops and lobster meat. Beyond excellent. Enough said. Do not walk run to make a reservation. The place inside is terrific had the fire going!!

An outstanding experience from start to finish. We started at the bar for drinks. Really great. Then apps and dinner was perfection. Best calamari we ever had. Entrees were outstanding. Server Emily was very attentive and so knowledgeable about the menu. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Our new favorite place to eat.

We really enjoyed our evening at Via Sophia. The ambiance was very nice and the server was attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! I had only one complaint - the portions were very small and I am not a big eater. I had the duck which was amazing, but the side consisted of one very small arancini (rice) ball. I made a comment to the server, but nothing was done about it. It's the only reason I would not have given it a 5.

We had the most delicious meal at Vi's Sophia by the Sea. The night before we ate at The Ocean on Ocean Avenue. Although it was elegant the food was not as refined as Via Sophia by the Sea. We started with the Fried Brussel Sprouts. They were light and fresh and full of flavor. They were the best Fried Brussels sprouts I have ever tasted. I ordered the Cutter Cove Salmon, which was wrapped in Prosciutto. Th prosciutto was crispy and flavorful and the lemon risotto was creamy and creamy and amazing. My husband ordered the Lobster Ravioli which was also delicious. Our server Emily, was attentive, very helpful and had a great personality. She made us feel at ease guided our selections with thoughtful instruction. We were so pleasantly surprised by our dining experience. When we return to Kennebunk, we will make reservations again, for Via Sophia by the Sea. We will be back!

I found myself in an elegant setting, perfect for having a quiet dinner with my wife. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the different dishes on the menu, as it was our first time at the restaurant. The presentation of the ordered dishes was excellent, with Italian flavors. Highly recommended.

Food was terrific and the interior ambience was welcoming. Service was a bit slow and the fireplace, while lovely, began to emit smoke into the restaurant to the point that our sweaters needed to be washed when we got home. Still, all in, I'd recommend Via Sophia.

Really nice ambiance. Smelled great! Food was good but could have been better, especially for the price. The bolognese needed some seasoning/salt, and the pasta was overcooked (bordered on mushy)! It wasn't bad per se (it tasted good), but definitely expected more for the price level and type of restaurant.

Great meals, veal Parmigiana was perfectly cooked, shrimp scampi was the best , lemony sauce and especially not too oily, scallops were great. All five meals were amazing. We had a split of 2/2/1 Friends visiting from Naples, Florida, first time in our wonderful town and Via Sophia really made a hit. Perfect choice as menu offers so much variety. Thank you for making me the perfect hostess with you help!

We ate at this restaurant Sept 4th 2024. Food was awesome! I had Mushroom arancinis and Lobster raviolis and all was very good. Service was good. We had a some delays and felt forgotten at the beginning but they fix it after we told them. I totally recommend this restaurant.

The Caesar salad was mediocre. The menu had veal Parmesan and swordfish picatta-but when the chef was asked if she would do veal picatta, she refused. Most chefs will happily oblige guests when they have the ingredients in the kitchen.

Absolutely outstanding food and service. We loved every bit of our dining experience at Via Sophia. The only regret is that we didn't try this restaurant sooner. We'll definitely return in the near future.

This restaurant was “ok” considering some Italian restaurant experiences I've had elsewhere. Ceasar salad was the highlight, Cavatelli was good, not great, a bit salty to the taste. I found the mousse cake lacking a bit of flavor. The tables for 2 were quite wide so it wasn't as intimate as I like. In the end we weren't unhappy but probably wouldn't be a repeat customer.

Excellent food and atmosphere for a very reasonable price. Service is very good, decor is stylish and welcoming. Fun crowd - lively but you can still hold a conversation. One of our favorite spots in Kennebunk.

Every aspect was top shelf except the desert there was a ‘mix up' and the ticket never went in and when we got it (the tiramisu) it was frozen in the middle and bland overall.
