Great BBQ, recently went to terry blacks in Texas and it was on par with that. The brisket was a little dry and the cole slaw had less flavor than I hoped, but other than that it was pretty tasty and satisfied my BBQ craving.

Chicken was awesome. The ribs were seriously dry and overcooked. Alot to spend on something that got tossed into the trash. Should be refunded the amount. Just sayin.

UPDATE 2/27/24- After a few good experiences we brought some out-of-town guests. Several of the food items were cold or barely heated and had to be sent back. It was kind of embarrassing after telling our guests what a great place it is, disappointing....PREVIOUS REVIEW I expected tender, juicy, smokey, meat with a good bark from a barbecue restaurant. What I didn't expect was the surprise of smoked maple sugar granules in the oysters, a delicious fiddlehead relish with the coffee rubbed smoked pork belly, and the grilled pound cake, probably the best dessert I have had in years! Very attentive service as well. Wow!

This is a true hidden gem in the city of kittery, as a butcher myself, I whole-heartedly recommend this BBQ they have mastered their craft when it comes to brisket, and if you want st louse ribs this is the place, lOh did in mention jalapeños corn bread and their killer collard greens. You gotta try this stuff you won't regret it.

Never have a bartender wait tables, especially on a busy Saturday afternoon when the bar is full. We were one of two tables the bartender was waiting on and from the time we sat down until we had our sandwiches, it was almost an hour. The brisket sandwiches were piled high, and the char was just right, but there was no smoky taste, which I suspect means that the brisket was not cooked slow enough or long enough. And the draft beer list was not complete. I saw an ad for shiner bock at the bar and asked the bartender if they had shiner bock in a bottle. He said they had it on draft. It was not on the draft list at the table. Attention to detail is key.

Terrible service! The Bartender was rude and inattentive. We had to wait for ages to get our drinks, food was ok.

The ribs are great. But brisket was tough and the Frito pie was mostly beans... Not worth the 15.00 for pie and the beer was pretty pricey... I could get a 6 pack the the cost of 1. ($15.00)

My wife and I started off with the Fritopie and Cowboy Corn. Both were delicious with the latter being delightfully messy and decadent. For the main course, we ordered the BBQ Platter for Two with Mac and Cheese, Corn Bread, Potato salad , and coleslaw for sides. The pulled pork was perfect and the brisket tender and juicy. My only complaint is that the ribs were a little dry, but everything else was on point. As a BBQ guy myself, I know how much effort and attention to detail it takes to make solid “Que”. I would definitely go back.

I tried the brisket since it's supposed to be "Texas" style. Having had a ton of brisket from Lockhart, Texas, and surrounding areas, I was excited to try it.Brisket from Texas has a few distinct characteristics, such as: definitive smoke ring, smoky taste, and easily pulled apart - no need for utensils. This brisket did NOT have a smoke ring, did not have a smoke flavor to it, and while it did pull apart easily it was more of a falling apart, near overcooked state. My only guess was that it was not cooked on a smoker but more likely in an oven, or slow cooker - as it did not hold any shape whatsoever. It was also not seasoned. If you've NEVER had authentic Texas style brisket, then this might be acceptable. However, if you are going to claim it as "Texas", then you better hold yourself to those standards. The pickles were straight out of the Sysco bucket, or jar, and the white onions were simply sliced - not pickled. The STAR of all our meals (we all ordered brisket - since we haven't been to Texas in about a year and were excited to try it), was the French Fries - crisp, well-seasoned, and DELICIOUS - great job!!!!! The fries were the ONLY things that were completely eaten by my family - we left the Mac & Cheese and (God forbid), we even left a good portion of the brisket for the trash.I honestly HOPE it was just an off day - because if this is truly the normal, then it is definitely NOT "Texas" style, and shame on this company for the claim.Buyer beware.
