“Went to this little quaint shop on a whim during a roadtrip, and turned out to be a very memorable stop on my entire trip in Maine. My cappuccino was tasty & smooth. I was greeted at the door by Oscar, the sweet lab. Owner/barista was friendly. I'm sad this can't be my daily coffee stop.”

“Had dinner here in October when on a trip with my mom. It was a nice break from all the seafood places (not that we don't love our seafood) a nice relaxed place to just chill and enjoy a meal. I had the chicken sandwich and it's ruined every other chicken sandwich I've had since (and chicken is my jam). Also if they sold jars of their homemade pickles I'd have bought multiple they were so good!!”

“If you’re in Bar Harbor and you want to drink until 1 in the morning, this is one of two options. But lucky for you, it’s a great option. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable, and the whiskey selection was above average. I tried a new Japanese whiskey that I had never seen before. That’s a pretty cool thing to experience in northern Maine in December. You can also see women dressed like Elsa from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and men wearing colorful ski jackets from the 80s. The Barnacle is a must visit if you’re in Bar Harbor.”

“Just had a top notch dinner at Havana. And as someone who has to eat gluten free I was so impressed when the waiter brought out gluten free bread for me when he brought out bread for the table AND my own butter/spreads for it so there wasn’t cross contamination. Every dish we ate was amazing. Do not overlook the vegan option! My daughter (not vegan) thought it was one of the best meals she has eaten in years.”

“Food was delicious but the service was less than acceptable. The girl that assisted us made us feel more of a bother or inconvenience. There was only 1 coffee made out of 5 machines, not everyone is a fan of dark roast or decaf. And the creamer machine was not working. We had the bacon omelet and blueberry pancakes, delicious. Coffee just meh. Prices are Island priced.”

“This place is doing absolutely beautiful things for this community. We had heard about it on one of the MDI pages. My husband and I wanted to check out the popovers but what we walked away with was so much more. We were welcomed in by the volunteers, given directions on how it all worked, and were able to have some incredible popovers while listening to music. We returned our last morning on island with our entire family, including our two dogs and enjoyed popovers as we sung along to songs from the Common Good Band. It was my 7 months olds first time on the island and I am so glad she got to experience all of that. Incredible Popovers, Awesome atmosphere and great cause. We can’t wait to come back on our next visit.”

“It was our first day in Bar Harbor and we chose Galyn’s for dinner. It was delicious. We sat on their front porch overlooking the harbor. The food was great and our waitress was so nice; very pleasant. We had the stuffed crab mushrooms, haddock sandwiches and blueberry crisp-a la mode for dessert. Yummy.”

We were told they were out of pizza dough which is weird for a pizzeria… we settled for other food and were not disappointed. Their pizza must be bomb if their other food was this good. “Janice was recommended to us by our wedding planner for our July 2021 wedding. Her list of flavors is long and believe me, you could spend all day trying various combinations. For our tasting, every single slice we tasted was moist and amazing. We ended up getting a chocolate and yellow cake with peanut butter mouse and chocolate ganache filling. Never have I ever had something so rich, moist, and somehow light at the same time. For our frosting, I strongly dislike any traditional frostings. Janice suggested a whipped cream frosting thankfully. She provided us with a traditional looking 4 tier wedding cake with flowers (made by her out of merengue) cascading down the side. It was gorgeous! My sister who is a chef was impressed with the presentation, knowing that it was a whipped cream frosting which can be harder to work with. And believe me, this was the best cake I have ever had. 6 days later and it has retained all its flavor and moisture. I don’t seen how we will be able to make it to our first wedding anniversary with that in the freezer. I can’t stop thinking about how good the cake is. You will not be disappointed if you get your cake here!”
