My husband & I had to take the 1.5 hour drive to Portland for an appoinment.
We came across this wonderful place while searching for a delicious lunch.
Wonderful, superb authentic food!
we tried the house made jalepeno poppers (ginormous & fresh) to start. Husband had the pork chimichanga (pork cooked to perfection) & I had to try the fried green tomato tacos. Blown away by all the flavors!

Restaurante El Corazón serves excellent authentic Mexican food with a relaxed vibe and friendly service. The menu includes crispy shredded beef, carnitas soft taco, enchiladas, tamales, burritos, and churros that are borderline illegal on how good they are. The house made jalepeno poppers are ginormous and fresh, the pork chimichanga has pork cooked to perfection, and the fried green tomato tacos are blown away by all the flavors. Menudo is prepared like Mexican grandmother in Los Angeles makes. The carne asada is almost always chewy and fatty. Servers are all lovely, beyond friendly, and considerate. The drinks menu is great. Online orders come with a thank you message for returning customers. Highly recommend.
