Of all the bakeries and coffee shops my husband and I tried on our trip to Portland, Tamdem was our favorite! The Americano was delicious and the salted coconut maple scone was one of the best I've ever had with the perfect crunchy texture on the outside and soft inside. I also tried the blood orange scone, which tasted a bit pithy to me. There was a line at 11:00 on a Saturday, but it moved quickly and there was plenty of seating outside.

I have endless love for Tandem. This location is definitely the bustling one but the loaded biscuits are so worth it!

I tend to avoid the hip and modern because the long waits and awful customers tend to mess up the experience. We got there around 9am and the line was out the door but boy did they move fast. We got 6 different goods plus coffee. Hot latte was a show stopper, be careful as people do tend to half-hazardously grab drinks and our ended up taken….twice. The biscuits were on par with scones. That’s not a knock as I love thicker, more savory. These aren’t the buttery fluff clouds I grew up in Mississippi but they sure did make the awful clientele worth it. 10/10 y’all.

Amazing biscuits and delicious coffee. It's hard to beat a good breakfast sandwich and a coffee to start the day.

We have done extensive traveling throughout the US and this has to be one of the best, if not the best coffee and bake shops we have ever been too! Right by our airbnb, we kept coming here every morning for breakfast while we were in Portland. Menu highlights were the beet quiche, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich, loaded biscuit with butter and jam, cappuccino and last but not least the pistachio olive oil cake!

Came today for my regular yummy egg on a biscuit. The line was out the door as usual - was asked my order, and I said the egg and cheese biscuit. After cashing out, It took a good 10 minutes for a basic latte. They didn’t give me an egg and cheese - I got some repulsive cream cheese thing that went straight in the trash. 45 minutes I’ll never get back and $20 I’ll never get back. Not impressed.

One of the best egg biscuit/sandwich I've ever had.

My partner was in Maine Medical for four days and Tandem was a highlight (okay, his successful surgery was too). Fabulous and unusual baked goods. The loaded biscuit was particularly spectacular. Reasonable prices and I'm glad they don't offer gluten free or vegan. They do what they do. And really well.

We were in Maine for half a day and I'm not going anywhere without trying out a cafe so I found this on Yelp and saw it was closing soon so we hightailed it from Bissell Brothers. This place is adorable and all the pastries looked amazing. They had great coffee mugs, little coffee gifts, and a really fantastic espresso. There's a few places to sit, but this is definitely more of a grab and go spot. Staff is super friendly and if I ever make it back to Portland, I'll be back for a coffee and some of those pastries!

Decadently delicious. Good lattes too. It's unfortunate their hours aren't/can't be extended later into the day though.Parking: Not too many spots at all- but there are some.

Tandem is obviously great. My slight disappointment however is that this branch no longer offers pour over coffee of some of its more unique and interesting roasts. I was advised to head across town for that. I guess I understand why - it's packed and very busy. But it was still a shame.

This was the best breakfast sandwich I ever had. (Add the sausage!)

Cookies and biscuit were great. They go pretty heavy on the salt sprinkle so if you have high bp, watch out. The biscuit was yummy but the butter to jam ratio was really off. Coffee was mid, that’s all I really have to say about it. The woman tending to us was a little nasty but hey, everyone has bad days.

The coffee was fantastic and the pastries were so good. They have ridiculously good biscuits and if you can, grab a chorizo breakfast sandwich. Soooo delicious!
