Rock City Café offers a relaxed atmosphere with funky alternative music and friendly baristas. This employee-owned coffee shop in downtown Rockland serves traditional coffee options and a light lunch selection of sandwiches and salads. The bakery items, including enormous cake-like cookies, are made in-house, and there is a great selection of freshly baked goods. Gluten-free and dairy-free options are available. The breakfast wraps, particularly the Reuben, are highly recommended, and the coffee is praised for its great flavor, although some find it expensive. The soup and wraps are especially good, and despite potential lines, the service is quick and warm. In the summer, there are a few small tables on the sidewalk, and the cozy atmosphere, along with lots of indoor seating, makes it a favorite spot. There is also a little bookstore in the back, adding to the unique experience.
