McLoons Lobster Shack Reviews
The best lobster roll in Maine
CHECKS ALL THE BOXES!
Whenever we have summer guests, McLoons is on our list of must visits. If they are from away, they all want lobster, and the views from this spot can’t be beat!BONUS—no issues with seagulls there! I wonder if that’s because they do not offer fries/fried foods?
Don’t skip dessert! The bread pudding, whoopie Pies and ice cream are part of the experience!

Best lobster roll I’ve had! The setting is beautiful and the vibes are immaculate. Had a lobster roll, crab dip, and clam chowder, all excellent! Excited to visit again soon!

McLoons Lobster Shack is known for its amazing staff, who ensure quick and efficient service. The restaurant is a must-visit for summer guests, especially those craving lobster. The views from this spot are breathtaking, and many customers appreciate that there are no issues with seagulls, possibly because they do not offer fries or fried foods. The lobster rolls are a standout, being generously filled with meat and highly praised as the best ever, even when served on a gluten-free bun that is perfectly toasted. Some reviewers have found the lobster rolls to be small, but many strongly disagree, stating they should be prepared to pay fair market price for what they receive.
Blueberry bread pudding is a must-try, especially when warmed up, with one reviewer calling it a "friggin 10." Desserts like whoopie pies and ice cream are also part of the experience, and there is a separate dessert trailer offering good options. Customers enjoy the unique experience of seafood while watching ocean waves, with outdoor seating at picnic tables and Adirondack chairs, along with a fire pit where free marshmallows can be roasted. Orders can be packed for takeout or shipped, even as gifts. The beautiful location in a cove on the water adds to the delightful dining experience, with great views that enhance the meal. Service is fast, and food is brought right to the table, making for an enjoyable visit. Customers usually BYOB, as the restaurant does not sell alcohol.
