We have been coming up to this area for years. We stay locally for a week or two. I get fresh lobster right off the boat, but we were always looking for fresh oysters. Drove back to Damariscotta (40 minutes each way) once to get some and they were pretty good. I found this place, this October. We have even stayed about a mile from here and never knew about Weaskeg oysters. I came here to give them a taste. OMG great flavor, sweet, easy to shuck and plenty available for a good price. This is the place for these great jewels from the sea. Definitely worth coming here for fresh oysters. If you don't have a shucking knife, Walmart has them in the fishing area

An absolute delight! After being intrigued by the sign we set out to find an oyster knife. Luckily those aren't too hard to come by on the coast of Maine (we found ours at Jess's). We headed back to the sign and after easy direction from the signage, parked outside of what looked like a home. We picked up 4 bags of their jumbo oysters, 32 in total, and paid them via Venmo. Shucking isn't as intimidating as it seems and really made for a fun experience. The oysters were delicious, fresh, and meaty. We highly recommend for anyone passing by, great stop!

Absolutely great oysters! The flavor was so good and the oysters were fresh! We grabbed a bag last night and will be getting another few before we leave! Easy and hassle free- we paid with cash.

I didn't really know what I was getting into but this place wasn't far out of my way and I couldn't pass on $1 oysters. It looks like a private residence but signs guided me to a room with a couple fridges stocked with bags of oysters. There were also some bags with 8 jumbo for $10. I opted for the regular and payed on venmo. I had to teach myself how to shuck oysters once I got them home and it was absolutely worth it. I ate some raw and they were some of the best I've ever had, extremely fresh and meaty. The rest I cooked Oysters Rockefeller style for the rest of my party that wouldn't eat them raw and this was a hit. Absolutely worth the detour and I'm glad I got more than I thought I needed.

Usually when I visit Maine I eat up on lobstah this time we devoured on oysters! Who would have thought! Fresh tasty sweet local oysters offered by a local oyster harvesters at $1 each. What a great opportunity for amazing oysters and a work out opening them. Just remember to bring or purchase your oyster knife (at local seafood markets or bait and tackle) and a couple of towels - you will need them! If you want to do the hard work shucking them the reward found here are delicious!

Amazing local oysters! Super fresh and delicious! There are 2 types of oysters (Snow Points and Submarines) and both were excellent! They are farmed right on the Weskeag River. $1 a piece by the honor system. They have refrigerators stocked with them and you can pick as many as you want - just pay cash in the box or Venmo them. It kind of feels like you're pulling up into someone's house but they have signs to guide you :)

Was looking for some oysters to bring home after a day of hopping around the coast, and this spot popped up as it was super close to our last stop around Owls Head. Set off on a quiet side street, this was the cutest little stop- just a side room with a fridge where you can grab the pre-bagged oysters (and pay by the honor system, a buck a pop!).We tried both of the two varieties available and they were both delicious and delightfully briny- the big ones were our favorite. Loved that we could support a local business, and get to try what we considered to be the best oysters of our trip!

Drove through town and saw the floating bags on the river and then saw that I could swing by and support the local oysterculture. Amazing! Great self serve location. Drive up, park and walk in to grab and pay for pre-bagged shellfish. $1/oyster. There are also many singles that you grab to select your own. I’ve had a lot of oysters (from south Jersey) and these are simply delectable! Size are perfect for eating on the half shell. The saltiness is perfect!! Best topping is some fresh horseradish. I think I’ll be stopping to bring some back to New Jersey. Support your local oysterman/woman!! ❤️

If you like oysters, you can’t find better than these. Spectacular, briny flavorful oysters that were in the ocean hours before you pick them up. Absolutely worth the drive.
