“My daughter and I came here for her birthday and it was an absolutely fabulous culmination to our vacation. Atmosphere is calm and cool, service was top notch, and the food....stop it. We shared the bluefin tuna ramen, onigiri trio, crab soba noodles (out of this world), and the sea bream nigiri (first time having, new fave). Beautiful presentation.“

“Surf was recommended as a place to try while we were in Portsmouth. It turned out to be a great choice. We arrived for an early dinner (5 pm) and were able to get a window table with a beautiful view of the harbor. My wife and I shared a house salad with sesame vinaigrette dressing, a bowl of clam chowder, and the roasted haddock with lobster mashed potatoes. Every dish exceeded our expectations. The roasted haddock really stood out- it was cooked perfectly with a butter/cornichon pan sauce and a surprising amount of lobster in the mashed potatoes. Our server did an excellent job. This restaurant is highly recommended. They do not take reservations.“

“We had a great Independence day having lunch at the Ikko! My boys didn't stop raving about the amazing food and funny entertainment by our cook at the hibachi! My youngest even said if he had $100 he would give it to him that's how good he was LOL The service was on point, my youngest has celiac disease and allergic to gluten but had no problem as the menu was adjusted to his needs. As a picky eater, my youngest ate everything and even asked for seconds. My boys talked about booking their birthday dinners here even though its not until months away. Would highly recommend and will come back for sure!“
