“Honestly upset with myself that I lived in the area for 2 months before trying them for the first time. The service is phenomenal, with the kind of staff that can predict your favorite toast order before you tell them, and always prepare your order like they're making it for themselves or a loved one. The atmosphere reminds me of the downhome diners my Pop would take me to each weekend growing up, where I'd get to order whatever I wanted and he'd pass me the Sunday comics while he read the local newspaper and we'd just enjoy comfortable silence together. He died many years ago, but he would have loved it here as much as I do and I think of him with a smile each time I stop in. While the building itself is a bit rundown (as you'd expect of an establishment open since 1971 and still staying afloat in the middle of a very low income area), I don't AT ALL understand the review claiming it to be unclean. If they're not taking care of customers, they're cleaning. I've never hesitated to order here, and I'm super picky about where I eat out bc of this, having worked in kitchens over half my life and witnessing some atrocities along the way.“

“My 9yo grandson wanted to try a new place to eat lunch today so he Googled restaurants nearby his home and thought this sounded good. So we went there and found his new favorite place to eat in the world! They had fresh cut fries which he raved about! Mimi, these are so good, way better than Mc Donald's! And those were his favorite fries , lol. He also got 1/4 BBQ chicken with spicy sauce, baked beans and garlic toast. I tried their Italian beef with peppers and onions. There was more food than we could eat and it was all delicious. The owner was very nice, helpful and personable but not intrusive at all. We required a to go container for my grandsons leftovers so he now had a full lunch for tomorrow as well. Food was very fresh and well made with large portions and the restaurant was clean and full of sports memorabilia. It's a delightful change from chain places and I highly recommend it.“
