Drive-in with amazing hot dogs (chili, cheese, mustard, onions) for less than $5. Open seasonally, they close in October for the winter. Perfect place to stop if you’re driving from Detroit to Chicago bc its barely a mile off I-94.

I have been coming here my whole life. Every last day of elementary school our mom took us here to celebrate. Since then I have always gotten the same: one hot dog with just cheese, and one hot dog w/ everything on it (chili, mustard, onion), and a medium root beer.You drive up and park and order from your car. There is nothing to compare RootBeer Stand hot dogs to. They are in a class all their own. I have eaten here multiple times since I was a kid. I moved away 22 years ago. Whenever I get back to Michigan, I make sure I eat here at least once.
