When making reservations for my birthday we were optimistic. Upon arrival no one acknowledged the reason for the dinner. We were sat down in a booth that had very little room and we felt cramped. The windows have no type of blinds that can come down to help with the heat/ sun coming in so I was sweating the whole time. We've eaten at Aerie previously. They are participating in the 2026 Traverse City Restaurant Week and had a nice sounding prix fixe menu. First, the service was impeccable. Other than the heating being too hot for those seated next to the windows and small portions for my entree and the small portions for everyone's desserts, it was a good meal. Flavorful. Fresh. I would give the food a higher rating, but my entree portion size and everyone's dessert portion...
Waited over 20 minutes for a server to stop by our table. Others who were seated after us had their 1st course while we sat waiting. Finally complained to the host and a manager. Dinner was ok but the lack of service was shocking. Cheryl waited on us out of pity I think and did a great job even if we were not in her section. Very disappointed with the evening. Management never even stopped by our table to check on us
