Best Umich bar. Idk why ppl are saying they don't accept out-of-state IDs, they absolutely do. I know that they are training a lot of new guys to look at IDs, so they will often be unsure and have to call over someone more experienced to double check. During this process, drunk people will often get confused and think they're getting rejected. I've seen this happen many times, it's not the bouncers' faults, it's just drunk ppl being idiots.
The DJ, Henry “triple collar” hunt lays an absolute stinker of a performance on the last Wednesday of the year. Playing depressing songs for the last hour made everyone who wanted to close it out leave at 1. Another horrid Rick’s performance followed by even worse music. At least the drinks are reasonable.

Rick’s American Cafe is easily the most overhyped bar in town. Having gone to school here, I can confidently say it was always the worst place to go, and nothing has changed.
Their door policy is ridiculously selective and dishonest. They routinely pick and choose who they let in and blatantly overcharge cover fees for certain people.
