“What a gem! Echelon is truly an amazing experience! In fact, our experience was so remarkable, we ate there twice while in town. The restaurant is gorgeous, a real feast for the eyes that gives a significant nod to the building’s rich architectural past while pulling a warm art deco design in a space fitting for an architectural magazine. As amazing as the space was the entire service and food team. Our servers – Jenn on night one and Ella on night two – were so friendly, knowledgeable and everyone went above and beyond to ensure our experience at Echelon was something we would never forget (and we won’t!). We even got visits from the kitchen with Chef Joe VanWagner coming by to greet us, expediter and professional forager Marc Jacob Qualls-Sanchez coming by for a long session on his foraging expertise (amazing!), and even their new tiki bar (coming soon!) manager Max giving us the DL on that space and renovations. We felt like royalty! For a special treat above and beyond the food, service, and overall experience, the Echelon team passed around menus that night to have all the front and back of house staff autograph it for us! I am so excited to add this to the unforgettable memories of our trip to Ann Arbor. It’s absolutely no wonder that Echelon was nominated for a James Beard award. “Had a really nice meal here and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. The Bang Bang shrimp was a standout and full of flavor from the first bite. I also loved the lamb, especially with the lentil ragout and seasoned vegetables that paired perfectly with it. The staff was warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Every dish arrived beautifully presented, making the whole experience feel polished and enjoyable.“

“Went out here last weekend with a couple friends after work. The place has a laid-back vibe, not too loud, not dead either, which I liked. Bartender was friendly and didn’t rush us even when it got a little busy. Drinks were solid and priced about what you’d expect for the area. I tried a whiskey cocktail and it was made well, nothing fancy but done right. Seating was comfortable and we were able to actually talk without yelling. It’s the kind of bar you could come back to for a casual night or to watch a game. Overall, a pretty decent spot.“

“Unfortunately I didnt have time to try the pizza but it looked freaking amazing! My husband and I planning to come back. We were there for a going sway party. We had the area in the front blocked off. It felt like hanging out in a front porch with friends, drinking, laughing, and just enjoying ourselves. The door guy was funny and the younger girl at the counter was super nice, eventhough the line was really long! I definitely recommend you give this place a try!“

“Excellent atmosphere, had a seat at the bar and tried the family estate rye whisky for the first time, which was excellent. Bartender was prompt and attentive, and my small plates were great accompaniment.

Fried old bay chickpeas - quantity was a large and pleasant surprise, though each individual bean was a little small. Flavor and crunch were nice, never tried putting old bay on my chickpeas before, but definitely too much salt on these, which was a pity. Still a good drinking accompaniment though, and surprisingly addictive.

Prosciutto - orange cantaloupe and blackberries were pleasant alongside prosciutto wrapped around the melon slices, and balsamic glaze went very well. I think the honey tilted the dish a little too sweet though, the fruit was sweet enough. Some nuts or a bit of citrus might have been good instead.

Jupiter and Mars cocktail - a little disappointed by this one, was expecting a more spice forward drink, but the spice was more of an aside to the tequila and sweetness.“

“I dined with my 4 year old & two 13 year olds. We all shared two baskets of fries, a Club and a tenders app. Including a beer & Pepsi the total only $50. The real 5 ⭐️ goes to the service staff. I’ve truly never experienced better. My toddler dropped her water glass which shattered under our table. Before I knew what had happened the staff were at our table to help. We stood out of the way where someone helped me dry her pants & replaced her water. The staff cleaned the mess then moped/dried the floor within ~3 min. It was AMAZING. Thank you!!“

“We visited tonight after having a rough day. We have been eating out quite a bit because of life…so we have a lot of waiters/waitress. Tonight, we had Bella and she was an absolute gem! “TLDR; TBP is a very intimate venue with excellent shows. (@Steve Hoffstetter) The Blind Pig did a great job managing our ADA/accommodation and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Regardless of your disability, (or lack of disability), if you have a chance to visit The Blind Pig- do it! You won’t regret it. They went above and beyond, (where so very many other businesses fail) was with our accommodations; as my mother used a cane to get around after breaking her hip. While yes, they legally are obligated to because of the ADA, however, where some places do the bare minimum, like leave people hanging, or make them feel like a burden for asking, TBP makes you feel truly welcome. Faith made sure my phone calls were returned in a very timely fashion (I purchased the tickets a day and a half before the show- she was definitely on it, to respond so quickly with care). Our seats were marked reserved, there were multiple people who could direct us where to go and who to contact (if needed) upon arrival. There’s been something that happened in our family several months ago that hasn’t brought joy to any of us; and seeing my mother relax and laugh, like she hasn’t done in months, made the extra night special. Thank you Faith, Molly, and all the other employees of TBP for making it a truly memorable experience. I can’t wait to see another show there. 💕“

“We stopped into The Blue Leprechaun to snag a quick bite to eat before we left Ann Arbor. The place was pretty empty when we got there as it was kind of late, I had my two girls with me. Jay was amazing, treated us like family, played with the girls while they waited for food, did his best to accommodate all three of us. Just an amazing overall experience which I expect nothing less from anything that Perry has his hands on. highly recommend this place anytime that you're in Ann Arbor. “The food at this place is excellent. One of the best Caesar salads in town. The waitperson mentioned they take 72 hours to prep the pizza crusts. We’ve dined here 3 times and it’s always been delicious with a friendly server. But, the place doesn’t appear to get much traffic. I hope others will discover it and share our enthusiasm. I would hate to see it close.“

“I watched the 2026 NCAA men's basketball final here at this cozy restaurant/bar in the lobby of the Graduate hotel. Robin and her co-workers busily served so many people - they were in constant motion! The staff brought out an additional large screen TV for the game, and even took the time to perform some audiovisual troubleshooting when the need arose. What a perfect atmosphere in which to witness a historical U Michigan victory!“
