The Brownstone in used to be a must stop for my dad and I when visited the U.P together, every time I went there it was the best! But now. Eh. It’s decent food, good sandwich but not the best. They used to have homemade fries and sauces that they made in house but it seems they might have gone to Sysco or some other company for them. Took us awhile to get a server and she was nice but felt like we were second hand priority to another table. Might be again in a few years...
It took a while for our server to get to us, but once she realized that we were her table, she was apologetic and gave us really good service.
My husband and I both ordered the Yooper Wellington and it did not disappoint! It was so hot and delicious! Our sides came cold though (mash and asparagus). My husband ordered a cup of the Fish Chowder which he says was hot and good but lacked chunks of fish for the price ($9 cup).
We would definitely recommend going there...

The service was prompt and friendly. The bread and maple butter was delicious. We had the fried mushrooms to begin, and they were yummy! I had the Smoke Brisket Ravioli that was in a delicious sauce and I had the Whitefish Chowder to go with it. Absolutely top notch. My husband had the Corned Beef Stroganoff with French Onion Soup. Both were absolutely incredible. It is in a beautiful cozy building with windows showing beautiful woods and lake outside. The food was first class...
