“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I grew up eating at this little gem, and even though I now live out of state in Georgia, it’s still a must-stop every time we’re in town. It’s become a tradition—my kids talk about it for weeks and always ask if we’re going. The food is consistently incredible, but the homemade bread and the hash brown casserole on the griddle are truly unforgettable. Everything on the menu is delicious! A huge thank you to the wonderful owner and staff who always make us feel taken care of. This place feels like home every single time. Highly recommend!“

“We show up to this lovely restaurant for a pre-exam breakfast and we had the laugh of a lifetime and it was a very good atmosphere and the food just backed it up and made it better. Huge thanks to an amazing waiter Mandy. She was super enjoyable to take our order. Seemed genuinely passionate in a very happy person. Would definitely come here again and she needs a raise.“

“We just flew into town to see old friend recently diagnosed w cancer. My wife’s been sad. We lived here 10 yrs ago. Sundance was right off the plane. We were lucky to get Rayne as our waitress. She brought joy and the best corned beef skillet and Rueben. A perfect and beautiful start to our stay!“

“We enjoy the quality and preparation of the food. Today we enjoyed a classic Reuben and an Irish Benedict. Both yummy! The restaurant was almost empty at lunchtime. We were so surprised and talked with two of the waitresses. I hope business picks up soon for you all!“

“Great food and wait staff. The hostess needs some major training. She does greet you or make you feel welcome. No personality and not one smile.“

“I stopped here on the way to the airport for a quick bite. The breakfast sandwich was really good. The dining room is similar to that of the old coffee shops. The service was good and fast. The prices were awesome, we ate for around $16 for 2 people, including tip. I would recommend to family and friends.“

“If you don’t give this place a 4 or 5 star review…well you just don’t know what good breakfast food is. I’ve eaten at literally hundreds of different breakfast places over decades from chains to 5 star resorts and all in between. This place for what it is and the home made character and taste is just top notch. That’s just the facts. For top creative home made quality and service in the West Michigan area Anna’s house is the gold standard. Or at least the core restaurants are. Oskar Scots is a rival to Anna’s house IMO. Oscar Scot’s is what Anna’s house was 15 years ago…a hole in the wall place that served up home made creative food and excellent service.
The food gets a full five stars at least for what we had. We only sampled a couple different menu breakfast items. 5 stars means perfection. The bread is home made and it shows. The jam (don’t call it jelly) is also home made and it is excellent. The sausage gravy is excellent. Food is quality and home made, and home made well.
Service is excellent. Again rivals Anna’s house at the core places. The servers are friendly and helpful and attentive, like you are dining at a friend’s house. They are so happy and pleasant but not over bearing. So service gets a full five stars.
Atmosphere gets 4 stars. Hey it’s a strip mall restaurant. You come for the food not high end digs. Just simple booths and chairs…again think Anna’s house at the original time and place. The murals on the walls are great, reflecting local character and the owners personality. Open and friendly atmosphere. More money spent on booths and chairs and the service ware could be done but I doubt that would draw in more customers. And once you eat the food you really don’t care about the simple atmosphere.
So overall one of the local gems that isn’t well known. But it is well worth the drive to Dutton. We will be back.
Insider information: you can buy loaves of the home made bread if they have some available. Just ask your server.“
