There is such a strong family dynamic in the restaurant, and such friendly staff. Not only friendly, but EFFICIENT. I kid you not within 5-10 minutes of sitting down I was digging into the most genius breakfast dish I’ve ever seen. A scramble, but in a bowl….a shuffle! “I stopped by Sawall Health Foods in KZoo while driving home to Ann Arbor from Chicago. My GF/DF/SF family has been anxiously waiting to try your products - and you exceeded our wildest expectations! The Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cinnamon Donuts and Blueberry Muffins were amazing. The Whoopie Pie is THE BEST Gluten Free baked item I've ever eaten! “What would you like to know about first?!The 'Sit down and order at your table' restaurant... The 'Choose your own ingredients' (like Qdoba or Subway) restaurant.... The bar.... The store....Of course, I will only review on what we experienced. We found this place by accident. We were greeted by a lovely woman who seated us with menus. Seeing the Qdoba style setting when I first walked in worried me, as I don't like that style of Restaurant and my Husband will take care of that for me.It was reminiscent of the Mom-and-Pop style restaurant with the ambience of a Mexican restaurant. We were there at a less busy time, so I'm not sure if they would be able to keep that atmosphere going during rush hour. We had a wonderful time! The food was great! Although my Husband's dish, he said, could have been a little more spicy. And didn't come out as hot as mine did. I love chips and they brought plenty to the table.My husband wanted to make sure that I add, in this review, that you better be ready to take a doggy bag, as they give you plenty of food! And he is a hearty eater.I took pictures of the restaurant. As I noticed online there are many, many pictures of the food, but not so many of the inside. I hope they are clear, as I didn't check them first..The waitress may remember who we are, when she reads that my husband had a complaint... He told her "There's a problem in the bathroom. The sign says 'employees must wash hands' but no one came in to do it. I had to do it on my own!" It took her a short moment.....We WILL be going back to this hidden gem!! .... Just Sayin'”

“Hometown local bar with great food and service. Had the lake perch basket and we told Kara that we were splitting. She served us in 2 separate baskets and I got the lemon and hubby the tartar sauce. Amazing. Cook Andrea is a super multi-tasker. We'll be back for senior special for sure.”

“We haven’t been able to get Ludwicks donuts for a bit. We drive to Grand Rapids to pick some up. The sign says Bill Knapp now. I hope they don’t change the recipe. I’m thinking now might be a good time for Bill Knapp to see how we liked Ludwicks product. Maybe they will work to retain what we enjoyed about them. Don’t change everything about this brand please, it’s iconic. We first had one on Mackinaw Island, we drove to get some for our daughter’s visit from Tacoma. Oh and the woman at the desk was very patient with my many questions. She was really great.”
