“They have the best fish and chips here! It’s a hole in the wall cash only business but the food is always amazing. Came in on a Friday night during Lent so it was packed but didn’t have to wait long for a table. Had the half order fish and chips and subbed the fries for a baked potato. Service was great. Definitely recommend eating here.“
“So I’m from out of town and we needed some place to go to get something to eat so we chose this place due to the ratings. This place did not disappoint. I got the fried shrimp and my friend got the fried catfish and they were both very delicious. Definitely go again if I’m in the area.“
“Went there tonight for dinner .I had their halibut dinner special for $18.25...my hubby did the 8 jumbo shrimp dinner...Both were absolutely fantastic..fish was amazing and great amount...even the fries and side gravy were so good...and the coleslaw was perfect ! Definitely be coming back ! Won't go anywhere else..best in the city.“
“This is by far my favorite fish house. I typically get raw fish to take home to cook myself. Been coming here for years. SAM and the staff know me by name, but even if they don’t know you personally, they make your experience worth coming back every time. They are just all around great at what they do!!!!!!“
“The food was so good my first time trying chicken is bomb the young lady who took the order was kinda rushing and you could barely get out what you want because she rushes you so the service to me wasn't great but the chicken is sooo good i will be back for the food but i hope the service is a little better.“
“Great attitudes, first of all. The customer service is unmatched. The inside is clean, I don't mind waiting on the inside until my order is done cooking. I love their whole wings and perch. I don't have to worry whether or not my chicken is cooked all the way. Kookaid is perfect! The macaroni salad is pretty good also. Keep up the great work!!“
“I love this place - its a great option if you don't eat pork, since everything is Hallal. And DELICIOUS!I try to get something different every time I order...so far nothing has disappointed! I'm not big on fish, but the salmon sliders impressed me, as did their pizzas and the chicken quesidella i had. My kids love the smoothies because you can request they put Boba in. I'll be back!“

“The food is always fresh and delicious. The only issue is that the wait is always longer than anticipated. There is a service problem with the phone. When I try to call ahead I get an out of service message, but others can actually get through. This can lead potential customers to go elsewhere.“
“Stumbled across this spot & I must say I’m impressed! Not that far from my place of business, this will be my go to place for lunch. The food is not expensive at all, it’s fresh, you can buy to take home and fry or they prepare it. They have a vast menu to choose from, I got the 2 piece of Orange roughy, with 10 jumbo shrimp and fries, very nice portion for $16 You must try here“
“Always great service and good food. The owners/operators take pride in listening to customers requests and specifications. Food has always been delicious, hot, and fresh. Love the variety and quick service.Definitely recommend. My favorite is their smelt with cornmeal batter, no flour with lemon pepper and garlic seasoning.You can also order the seafood uncooked if preferred.Although the parking lot is small, I've never had issues getting in and out.“
“I would definitely visit this place again. The portions are respectable and the fish is delightful. I ordered the catfish nuggets and fries. The portions easily eclipses the spot by my home. This place is by my job and has definitely taken the #1 spot between the two. Would definitely be returning to try other things. Would recommend“
“The best fish and shrimp in the Metro Detroit area. The serving portions are truly great. I drive all the way from Riverview, MI to get this treat. I remember years ago this place would have a line of cars wrapped around the corner. I think the person who own this place passed away and it was closed for awhile. I think the family decided to reopen. I'm so very glad they did. Much success to Waves. ??Parking: Street parking. Have to be careful due to the main street of Grand River has heavy traffic. I can deal with the traffic because the food is well worth it.“
“Excellent fish and chips, great service. The only thing I wish they'd change is the fact that on Fridays, you can't order by phone. You have to go there, order, and wait in your car. But as I said, the food is awesome and the staff are very nice.“
“Great music. Great vibes. Great menu. Great prices. Great staff. Owner introduced himself and made us feel very welcome. This was my partner's 1st time out since Covid started in Dec 2019 and our 1st time back here since the new owner took over. We were both happy and impressed with the changes. Losing the center and front booths really opened it up and makes it way less claustrophobic feeling. Music was good and people were coming in. The burger I ordered was perfectly burnt around the edges and juicy. The waffle fries are delicious. He got the haddock with okra. Flaky, flavorful and crunchy fried, 2 large pieces and the tartar sauce was creamy and good. Okra was fresh and tasty. Can't wait to return. Wish I'd caught the owner's name. He was very kind. The waitress was wonderful as well.“

“Edited from last visit some years ago... HUGH IMPROVEMENTS.I went the day before Christmas Eve to try catfish and chick to taste. Came back Christmas Day because some family members don't eat Christmas ham or beef brisket. Chicken was hot seasoned well just delicious. I really love the guy help people take food to car with large orders.“
“Their jumbo fried shrimp is the BESTEST I don't like fried shrimp from any place else! It's best to call and order ahead. The menu is online if you use Yelp! You can have them add seasoning when you pick it up. Lemon pepper or Cajun. It so delicious I don't even use sauce . I feel like Homer Simpson drooling just thinking about it.“
“Fish and chicken was hot and fresh tasting. The shrimp was perfectly fried, the breading wasn’t too thick. It was a little salty for me but my family loved it. We had the orange roughy, cod, and salmon. Nothing was fishy smelling or slimy.“

“Finally!!!!! My first time trying this place yesterday. Been looking for a place that knows how to fry real fish and has variety of fish a lot of places don't serve. Ordered the bake salmon, it was amazing. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. This my new favorite place as I love my seafood. Can't wait to try something different next time.“
