Gateaux is the pretty Dearborn spot where the ladies hang out. I go here to study (free wifi) and often chat with the baristas. I am gluten free so I mostly get drinks here, which are made with care and on-trend.
The cake was ok, the filling was pretty delicious, but for $50 for a 6 in cake, very very skimpy on the berries, a lot of frosting on the outside which wasn't very good. The aesthetic factor of the cake and the shop itself is nice, but other than that very expensive for an ok cake.
Ive visited twice and I've enjoyed the environment, customer service, and the cake. There is parking available near the entrance as well as across the street. If you're in the area and looking for a nice treat, I would recommend.
