Ok the coney island dog was fantastic and a 10/10! I could not choose between the side by side shops of this and lafayette because there was zero negative to either dog from them both. They were definitely different and great so I say get one from each spot because they are both amazing. I would say however that this place lacked a friendly staff and was a generic ambiance as far as the interior of the place goes. So on those 2 factors I award Lafayette the winner. BUT again,...
I went to American Coney Island for the coney…..duh, and it was definitely a solid dog. They use Dearborn brand dogs, kitchen brand mustard, and their own proprietary chili blend. Their chili could use a little more “pop” 💥, But is still better than many of the other Coney Islands in town

I have been to American Coney in Vegas but being at the Detroit original location was awesome. American Coneys are some of the best hot dogs in America! The service was awesome and genuine, I had a coney, a loose and a Stoh's before a Tigers game, great way to experience Detroit.
