If you have a sweet tooth, Astoria is an absolute must! We stopped in every year for our anniversary for dessert and tried a little bit of everything this year: the Black Forest cake, strawberry cheesecake, double chocolate cheesecake, and Oreo cheesecake. Every single slice was incredibly rich, decadent, and perfectly made. The variety here is unmatched, and the cheesecakes completely hit the spot.
Chocolate covered coconut seemed stale. Chocolate cheesecake had very thin sliver/layer of cheesecake. Saturday night so maybe they don’t cook fresh that day. Was expecting better quality from a place like this tbh. Service was very good however.
Astoria Pastry Shop is an absolute Detroit gem! The second you walk in, the display cases are almost overwhelming—in the best possible way. Cakes, cheesecakes, baklava, cookies, tortes, pastries…everything looks incredible, and somehow it tastes even better. You can see why this place has been a Greektown institution for decades.
