Great Mexican bakery. I've been here a few times and have found it to have a good variety of baked goods, all of which I've tried have been consistently fresh and delicious. They also make custom cakes and have quite an assortment of options available for all occasions. I stop in whenever I'm in Mexicantown as a matter of course to pick up a dozen or so baked treats confident they'll be fresh enough to enjoy for a few days afterward.
My boyfriend FaceTimed me while he was at this bakery. Their selection looked wonderful and I asked for him to bring me back a traditional concha. It tasted really good. It was soft with a crispy top and lightly sweetened taste. I wish I could talk more about the other treats, but I am unable to at this time. We made an impromptu visit to Detroit's Mexicantown neighborhood on an unseasonably warm day. The bakery is across the street from Clark Park, has easy street parking, and had the most amazing selection of sweet treats. And then we saw the case of warm savory items, and our lunch plan was set - empanadas and treats in the park. The hardest thing was picking, and the Buttercream Yo Yo won.
