The atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm, friendly, and fun, making it the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable and welcome. On top of that, the location is fantastic, with plenty of activities nearby to enjoy before or after your meal, which really added to the overall experience. The highlight of our visit, however, was our waitress, Ashley W. She went above and beyond in every way. Ashley anticipated our every need before we even had to ask, showing an attentiveness that is rare to find. She was friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable about the menu, which made ordering so much easier and more enjoyable. Her positive energy and genuine care turned what was already a great dining experience into something truly memorable. Ashley is, without a doubt, the main reason my family and I plan to return. Her service left such a lasting impression on us that we would gladly make the trip back to Michigan just to eat here again. It is rare to come across someone who takes so much pride in their work and makes every guest feel special, but Ashley did exactly that. She is an absolute asset to this restaurant, and we cannot thank her enough for making our visit exceptional.“

“Detroit soul is possibly the best meal from start to finish I've had in years. Walking in you notice how delicious everything smells, how clean everything is and how friendly everyone who works here is. The food is top notch. The breadding on the catfish fritters made my mouth water, the greens made me want to write home, the mac and cheese was perfectly cooked and the meatloaf was so tender and tasty. Then the dessert! Peach cobbler that made me make obscene noises, the creamy vanilla scoop and the amazing red pop sorbet were bursting with flavorful perfection. I highly recommend going here and trying everything.“

“First thing dinning here. Wish we would have came out sooner. Fantastic experience. Warm crab dip was phenomenal. Whole red snapper, oxtail and extra cheddar risotto. Everything was excellent. Flavor and portion sizes are huge. Finished with bread pudding which the house included for our anniversary. Was delicious. Highly recommended trying this place out.“

“I want to give a shot out to chef dink we had a Repass yesterday And they supply the chicken and the catfish it was amazing that was the best chicken and fish I ever had we had several requests for more. If you are in need of some Delicious food check out The Green Mile grill you can't go wrong“

“I love this place. The other day a woman came in and Without trying her food tried to say it was disgusting. Made a Big huge scene which caused some customers to leave. I stayed to make sure nothing happened.And now is constantly harassing them and won't leave them alone. The owner and the staff was professional and tried to solve the problem which the lady was not having. Then called her husband and had him come up later that day to harass the owner, And her employees. Now i'm on facebook and watching this lady, Her husband, And her friend harass this business owner. yes It is very important to say that her husband kept repeating he owns his own business. so I am guessing they are doing this because he needs more business? trying to put her out of business so he can get her customers? I was there and this owner should not have to deal with the harassment from them. sorry you have to. keep doing you and all your customers that know you will keep coming back. I know I will.“

“For a soul food restaurant the food was very close to homemade.The collard green were good.The bathroom left a lot to be desired. It was very nasty.The floors were sticky even in the bathroom. Overall the food was good and I would go back again.“

“2 weeks ago, me and my brother ate bruch here, and it was really good. The music was right, our waitress was friendly and the building is a very large loft space. We enjoyed it alot!!!“

“It was our first time here. It was very warm, welcoming Outstanding customer service. highly recommend 100 out of 10 I had the tilapia dinner and my husband had the smothered pork chops dinner and my niece had the chicken tenders. Everything was cooked fresh nice and Hot and nicely plated“

Mac & Cheese 7/10 (coulda been creamier).
Steak bites were really good. My only complaint is no gravy with the turkey chops or sauce.

“I stopped in to ask about placing a catering order, but they didn’t have any forms available at the time. The young lady who helped me, Treasure, was so kind and professional. She actually seemed disappointed that she couldn’t help right away, and before I left she said, “I hope to see you back soon.” It felt so genuine, and I really appreciated that. I did come back later—and ended up ordering catering. Great customer service!“

“We were greeted just fine. We were seated quickly. Our waitress was okay. It took her about 10 mins to greet us. She hardly checked on us. It was almost like she knew she was getting a 20% tip automatically. But the food was amazing!! Worth the price paid. The lemonade was perfect too. Food & drinks 10/10.“

“I ordered a catfish and chicken wing ding combo and the chicken drum/flat were literally less than an inch long each. I couldn't believe they would serve a portion of that size. The remainder of the food was seasoned well. My husband and I went back, terrible decision, July 27th. We ordered food at 1230 and we got our food at 150am when the place closed. We asked for our table to be cleaned-never happened. The staff were rude at closing, the music was shut off and lights turned on in the middle of a song without warning. Staff started yelling, "Get out, you need to leave!" We were still waiting on our food. Staff yelled that phrase to us and we told him we have been waiting on our food fir over an hour. They were still trying to make us leave without our dinner. We eventually received our food and left. It cost $40 to get in, there's a drink minimum and 20% gratuity on food. We will not be returning and if anybod6asks about this restaurant, I will discourage them from patronizing this business.“

“This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and allow me to say that I will be ordering again…and again, I am sure. I ordered the catfish with a side of yams and collard greens. The catfish is the best that zi have had in years and the collards and yams were excellent! It is clear that care and love went into the food preparation. I must also say that the folks running the restaurant and providing service made my experience even more pleasant. I count myself as fortunate to have found such a wonderful restaurant as this.
