“First time grabbing food to go from here. I’m so happy I finally tried them. The food is a 10/10 no complaints. Had a little bit of everything since I ordered for my family. Beef ribs, smoked wings, brisket sandwich, greens, baked beans and mac and cheese. It was all delicious. The meat was well flavored not over seasoned or overcooked. The sides were also flavorful. Nice size portions and good price. Happy to know I have a soul food/bbq option close to home that is good. Nice bar welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to dining in soon.“

“First time customer, I ordered online, catfish dinner with yams, Mac n cheese, dressing (added an extra side for extra cost). I picked up with my toddler in tow. I'm sure they'll remember us, he came in with his swimwear on and spoke to everyone and wanted the Superman cake. There was no one in line, a couple of customers were sitting down. I finally get home and get settled an hour later and ready to eat only to find my dressing was not in the order. 😩 The dinner was good. Just wish I received everything. I'm not driving back there with my toddler to pick up a side. I should have checked there but they also should have checked, esp with it not being busy at all.“

“This place is absolutely insane! 🤩 First-time customer, and I was blown away. The customer service was some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Everyone was so friendly, and they were genuinely excited to let you taste everything. You can tell they are very confident in what they serve.

No place in Detroit has prices like theirs, and the environment is very clean. I definitely recommend giving them a try!

And that dressing! 😋 It reminds me of my grandma’s cooking. I haven’t had dressing this good in a very long time—until now!“

“Excuse my messy picture but food was that goddamn good that I had already started eating it before I couldn’t even get the phone out and I’m not exaggerating them damn red beans or rice 10 out of 10 this barbecue cheeseburger 9.9 it was still hot and juicy when I got home 30 minutes later beef ribs 9.8 out of10 the red beans and rice nothing to play with“

“I recommend the chicken, ribs, yams and Mac…. Even the koolaid was freaking amazing! I’m a very indecisive person and when I walked in, I couldn’t choose, so I just ordered everything I knew I’d eventually eat. One rib dinner is def enough for two meals. The wing dings were amazing too! And it travels well. Lord knows that delivery man was very easy on the eyes! Fast, fresh, friendly, SEASONED, authentic food for the soul! “Sitting here this good Sunday morning anticipating the day J's Cafe will reopen. I can't wait, and it's been too long. Nobody in Detroit makes Salmon croquets served with rice and gravy 😋 (my preference over grits)👌with scrambled eggs as good as J's does. This is my ultimate hands down favorite breakfast spot that brings that southern down home soulfood taste 😋 to your stomach. The dinners are fire too! This was a very happening place and a lot of us are patiently waiting for you to return. “My experience Some days are better then some I think this company needs a little more training The food is good I believe the company needs more training on sanitation far as the employees sometimes the food is salty sometimes the food is not done sometimes they will put food out from the day before Other than what I said I rate the company with a four because I have believe in the company to do better“

“The food is worth the hassle of waiting. The food is cooked with love and care and you learn that through their consistent good tasting dishes. The meatloaf mashed potatoes and gravy does it for me every time I come in off of a 2 to 3 month stint on the road. I love'em.“

“I could eat at celebrities bar and grill everyday! The lamb chops are great with the celebity sauce a must try you won't be disappointed. I normally get turkey chops with a side of mac n cheese and a side of yams and they never disappoint. They know what they're doing with the food so give them a try if you never had it you'll be glad you did. Only thing I wish they would change is taking orders over the phone again because it can be a nice little wait sometimes to get your food after you order in person depending on how busy they are.“

“The food was damn good and well worth the price I will be checking this place out again the ghetto Burger was good it really didn't stand out from any other Burger but it was still good the cheesecake dessert was the only thing I did not like and honestly it didn't even taste like cheesecake was more like Frozen cake so I'll pass on the dessert but everything else that I had was damn good.“
