The fry oil needed to be changed. The hushpuppies and the corn fried catfish were almost black when they should be nice golden color. We were so excited to go eat there it had been 4 years and it was so disappointing. Won't be on the list to do on our next trip. So sad use to be our favorite.

Great cajun food with a fun funky atmosphere. Our server was very friendly and helped make our dining experience very memorable. I will go there again when I’m in the area. Highly recommend a visit here.

Pearle's is a must try if you are in the Elk Rapids area. Their Cajun cuisine is excellent! Be sure to try the collard greens, fried green tomatoes, and crawfish cakes for starters. The bronzed shrimp dinner is one of my favorites. The fried chicken salad rocks too.Their traditional Cajun favorites like jambalaya or ettoufe are authentic and very well done.Don't like spicy? Their pot roast and fried chicken dinners are anything but ordinary and second to none. There are po boys and muffalettas for less spicy choices too. They even have a spicy bloody Mary with a crawfish and stuffed jalapeno in it.The atmosphere is casual and upbeat. The wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable.Don't miss it!

Pearl's food, service, and atmosphere are always fantastic. My family and I have been eating there for years, and the quality is always consistent. Their bourbon selection is ridiculous, and the food is...getting hungry thinking about it. Just go if you haven't been.

It's a really nice and unique restaurant however the food isn't anything to rave about. It's good for sure but not crazy amazing. The fried gator is real good, would recommend if you've never had

Best restaurant in the state of Michigan. Most authentic NO style food outside of NO. Cherry Margarita is the best I’ve ever had. The thing I miss most about Northern Michigan is this restaurant!

I'm giving them 4 stars even though my vegan food was disgusting. The place is very cute. We had come in right after their Mardi Gras party and it was decorated and had lots of balloons in fun shapes. Our server, Sarah, was awesome! Our drinks were amazing! We order Mockito and cherry margarita (no booze). The Hopping John vegan version was terrible. It looked like they dumped some veg-all frozen peas and corn and some spices with rice. As someone who makes homemade vegan jambalaya I was extremely disappointed. We were steered away from ordering vegan jambalaya but now I'm wondering if that would've been better. The red bean cakes, fried okra and hush puppies were yummy. Our non- vegan friends loved their food so I guess this place is great as long as you like fried food and meat. If not, skip it until they learn how to make veggie forward food better.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan offered. Vegetarian has much more choices
