“My husband and I decided early on that food was going to be the most important part of our wedding day. We also knew that we wanted it to be 100% vegan. As big fans of Chive Kitchen when they had the restaurant in Farmington, we knew they could put together a fantastic menu for us. We hired Chive for food, bar service, and month-of consult and weekend coordinator. Suzy and team helped create an incredible evening that we will never forget.

After our first meeting with Suzy, we knew we were in good hands. As two guys who had never given a lot of thought to what our “dream” wedding would look like, she took our vague ideas and turned them into reality. We had a general idea of what type of venue we wanted, and her first suggestion was absolutely perfect. The bulk of the planning was left to us, but Suzy was always available to bounce ideas, provide advice, and steer us in the right direction.

Suzy’s creative vision, intuition, and experience are unmatched. Everything from a unique room layout and schedule of events to small details with table decor and custom menu items were executed flawlessly. Her team handled all of the set-up and tear-down, leaving us to just enjoy the day with our families. The decor was so thoughtful, warm, and just beautiful - more than we could ever try to articulate.

The curated vegan food, cocktails, and mocktails were absolutely delicious, and we received so many compliments from guests - even those who are leery of the “V” word. Bruschetta, buffalo bites, and fried artichoke appetizers were immediately devoured. Dinner was Caesar salad, braised cabbage, mashed potatoes, portobello steaks, and mostaccioli. All of it was so tasty (the BEST mushroom I’ve ever had) and we were reminded of all our wonderful dates at Chive Kitchen. We especially loved the custom cocktail themed after our chihuahua. And of course the cupcakes (pumpkin spice and chocolate) were a HUGE hit. Suzy was able to accommodate all of our guests' food allergies with ease.

On top of everything else, it meant a lot to us to work with a woman owned small business and fervent LGBTQ+ ally. Working with Suzy and her team was a dream. They did all the heavy lifting and we were able to truly enjoy and soak up the incredible evening that was put together for us. Chive was responsible for the most important part of our wedding which was coming together with family and friends to share a delicious meal. We will cherish the memories forever. “Highly recommend! First time in and won’t be my last. Best beef kafta I’ve ever had and I grew up in Dearborn. Better than La Marsa, Shish, anywhere. Kafta is tender and not overcooked. They have the food fresh baked round pita bread, not the store bought. The dressing for fattoush is soo good. My server, Rumana, was so sweet and attentive. 11/10!“

“Hands down the best BBQ of my life. Growing up I was never much a fan of any style of BBQ but Hogz Backyard BBQ has changed my perspective. The brisket melts in your mouth and the Mac and cheese is the best I ever had. Would 100% recommend for anyone needing food catered. “Recently I had a surprise 70th birthday party for a friend. I contacted Darren asking for some suggestions for the menu since many young grandchildren out numbered the adults attending the party. His Macaroni and Cheese was wonderful as well as his Potato Salad. Just barely enough for leftovers the next.day. Everyone enjoyed it and scarfed it up . This is my 4th event with him. All very different and each one being fabulous. He makes planning an event so easy.“

“Laurel Manor is the most BEAUTIFUL venue for a wedding reception! Their staff is very friendly and willing to help out with anything needed. Our Laurel Manor coordinator, Alice, was pretty much like our wedding planner! She helped us make sure every detail of our reception was PERFECT! And it was 🥰 The food was absolutely DELICIOUS and our guests still talk about how it was. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of Laurel Manor and we recommend them to anyone. 10/10 ❤️“

“We had our wedding shower at Guernsey Restaurant last weekend & could not have asked for a better experience! We had 35 people and the waitresses were on top of everything the entire time. I’m not sure if this was planned or if she just did it, but one of the waitresses was almost entirely dedicated to me as the bride, making sure I was never without a drink, being there for anything that was needed, they were wonderful! The food was amazing and of course the ice cream is the best around, but the service was what made it truly special!“

The workers were incredibly kind and patient with me while I decided what to get, and the overall selection was great. I ended up getting a half a dozen cupcakes of various flavors and they were a hit! My favorite was definitely the carrot. It was one of the most moist and flavorful cakes i’ve ever had, and the garnishing of the candied carrot and walnut really elevated it. I will definitely be back for more!“
