“My husband and I decided early on that food was going to be the most important part of our wedding day. We also knew that we wanted it to be 100% vegan. As big fans of Chive Kitchen when they had the restaurant in Farmington, we knew they could put together a fantastic menu for us. We hired Chive for food, bar service, and month-of consult and weekend coordinator. Suzy and team helped create an incredible evening that we will never forget.

After our first meeting with Suzy, we knew we were in good hands. As two guys who had never given a lot of thought to what our “dream” wedding would look like, she took our vague ideas and turned them into reality. We had a general idea of what type of venue we wanted, and her first suggestion was absolutely perfect. The bulk of the planning was left to us, but Suzy was always available to bounce ideas, provide advice, and steer us in the right direction.

Suzy’s creative vision, intuition, and experience are unmatched. Everything from a unique room layout and schedule of events to small details with table decor and custom menu items were executed flawlessly. Her team handled all of the set-up and tear-down, leaving us to just enjoy the day with our families. The decor was so thoughtful, warm, and just beautiful - more than we could ever try to articulate.

The curated vegan food, cocktails, and mocktails were absolutely delicious, and we received so many compliments from guests - even those who are leery of the “V” word. Bruschetta, buffalo bites, and fried artichoke appetizers were immediately devoured. Dinner was Caesar salad, braised cabbage, mashed potatoes, portobello steaks, and mostaccioli. All of it was so tasty (the BEST mushroom I’ve ever had) and we were reminded of all our wonderful dates at Chive Kitchen. We especially loved the custom cocktail themed after our chihuahua. And of course the cupcakes (pumpkin spice and chocolate) were a HUGE hit. Suzy was able to accommodate all of our guests' food allergies with ease.

On top of everything else, it meant a lot to us to work with a woman owned small business and fervent LGBTQ+ ally. Working with Suzy and her team was a dream. They did all the heavy lifting and we were able to truly enjoy and soak up the incredible evening that was put together for us. Chive was responsible for the most important part of our wedding which was coming together with family and friends to share a delicious meal. We will cherish the memories forever. “John and his team were incredible both with communication and advice before our wedding on 11/26 and with everything on the day of the wedding -- set-up, tear-down, ensuring that my husband and I were able to enjoy all of the food, and checking in on everyone to ensure that folks were enjoying everything.

All of the food was easy for large events and broad taste palettes, but our guests also reflected that it was different and unique enough to make it stand out from other events that they had attended.

“Absolutely amazing! Our daughter had a destination wedding and then an at home reception when we returned. We had Hogz Backyard BBQ's food truck for 175 guests. I can't even remember how many people complimented the food. It was probably the best brisket that I have ever had. And the sides were amazing as well. They were able to serve all 175 guests in no time as well. The DJ was releasing tables to get in line for food and he couldn't even keep up with their fast and efficient service. It was actually a little comical. And super friendly as well. I would definitely recommend them to everyone!“

“11/11/2025 We had a small special dinner party planned out with Mike Eckles of Abode. We had to work around our guests’ likes and dislikes. He could not have been more helpful in planning the menu. Chef Aletha made the evening wonderful. They bring everything and leave the house in great condition. Nothing but praise for the delicious food (fish based, but not salmon), the presentation and her flexibility to make it a perfect evening. Her presence added to a wonderful dinner.“

“We had our wedding shower at Guernsey Restaurant last weekend & could not have asked for a better experience! We had 35 people and the waitresses were on top of everything the entire time. I’m not sure if this was planned or if she just did it, but one of the waitresses was almost entirely dedicated to me as the bride, making sure I was never without a drink, being there for anything that was needed, they were wonderful! The food was amazing and of course the ice cream is the best around, but the service was what made it truly special!“

The workers were incredibly kind and patient with me while I decided what to get, and the overall selection was great. I ended up getting a half a dozen cupcakes of various flavors and they were a hit! My favorite was definitely the carrot. It was one of the most moist and flavorful cakes i’ve ever had, and the garnishing of the candied carrot and walnut really elevated it. I will definitely be back for more!“
