“7/20/21 When visiting Saugatuck, MI, we always stop at Boardwalk Deli, while strolling the historic downtown and all of the little shops. We love the lemonade that this deli makes fresh, as you order it. We had a quick lunch and I chose a tuna salad sandwich with chips and the bread and tuna salad were wonderful. My husband had a BLT and said that it was good. If you go into the left side of the building and go to the counter, that’s where you order drinks and food and then they’ll bring it out to you, as they have tables outside. The service has always been friendly. If you go in the left side, you can order ice cream goodies. We went for ice cream on the night of 7/22/21 but they closed 8 minutes before we arrived, so we walked back over to another ice cream shop. Highly suggest this deli. “My wife and I were enjoying a phenomenal meal from the Southerner, while on vacation. No cake on the menu, but our waitress gave us some complimentary White chocolate raspberry gelato. Made my birthday. Later in the week, we stopped in, only to find they were not open. The owner graciously comped us with some Mango, White Chocolate Raspberry and Double cappuccino gelatos. This really contributed to our declaring our vacation phenomenal. Excellent tasting. Plan on getting some restaurant sized containers shipped to Wisconsin. “We stopped for after dinner treat. After checking 2 other places nearby (Charlie's and another one with neon color candies) we went with Kilwins for the variety of the deserts. The ice cream I tried were way too sweet and the only one kind without sugar did not taste good. While flavors are interesting the problem is with the amount of sugar in the product. I would like an ice cream shop to list not only the calories per scoop but grams of sweetener used AND the type of sweetener (white sugar, cane sugar, corn syrup, glucose syrup, stevia, aspartame, etc ). All European creameries do that so why can't we? I liked the staff attentiveness and professionalism but wonder why the svoops need to be that big??? I wanted to have a sampler of 3-4 flavors in literally teaspoon size but the smallest postion was half a cup or more and they could only sell one flavor to me. Hmmm... My friend got something with cherries and was oversweetened within 3 spoonfuls. The rest ended up in trash. Suggestion to the owner or manager. Offer smaller portion of up to 3 flavors for those who like different kinds. Fudge (pumpkin) was tasty but also syrupy.“
