We absolutely love this Bowdie's restaurant here in Grand rapids! The decor and ambiance of the restaurant was upscale and rich. Everything that we ordered from the nice small menu was excellent. We started with the scallops appetizer, and they were served still sizzling from the oven in ther/ garlic butter sauce!! (See video). We shared the grilled Caesar salad for the table. We also had the shrimp bisque soup. That was outstanding. All of our main entrees were served cooked...
Our steaks were cooked perfectly and we're super tender. Four of our party ordered the special (top cut?) which was served medium rare with a charred exterior. I had the filet mignon. All appetizers (bone marrow, crab cake, shrimp cocktail, steak tartar) were delicious and allowed all to have a nice sample. Service was excellent and cocktails were well made. We all had a great meal.
Definitely a top five steak restaurant in Michigan. Drinks are good, Sides are good, the tuna is good. The seafood tower was the only thing I've had there that was not impressive.
The service is very nice and polite. However, they don't know anything about serving or decanting wine. But that's pretty much to be expected. Most places don't know how to do it.
