Not a huge fan of sushi (my husband loves it) but the service alone was worth the experience, our server Molly was so NICE, she was able to make some great menu suggestions that really helped me enjoy my dinner! Will definitely come again! Molly's a GEM!!

Love this spot for date night! All of the appetizers are amazing but the crab rangoon dip is definitely a favorite. We always end up ordering multiple of the crouching tiger specialty roll because it is THAT good. The restaurant is typically full on weekends so I would recommend making a reservation, however, typically you can make an online reservation 30 minutes to an hour prior to when you want to eat and they were able to seat us immediately. Service has always been great, but plan on 1 to 2 hours for dinner just because of the time it takes to make each of the rolls. The quality of the food is definitely worth the wait. Best sushi restaurant in Grand Rapids hands down!

My favorite sushi restaurant has been Maru for years. The Cosmopolitan Roll is the best. However prices have gone up but quality has gone down. I’m ok paying more for quality. The ginger dressing for the salad is so watered down it barely sticks to the lettuce. There’s less of the Cosmo roll than before. There was less shrimp in the firecracker shrimp appetizer. I’m very disappointed.

Had a dual birthday dinner here tonight. It was the first time I’ve been here in a while, and let me say it was great! The food was exceptional, and our server, Shannon, was a complete delight! Attentive, cheerful, helpful. All around great experience.

Great service, quality food, and good atmosphere. I have never liked sushi and decided to go in with an open mind. We tried several and I liked them all. We also got a crab ragoon dip that was legit and I tried some suki that was much better than the hibachi grill squirt bottles 😆. Check em out!

Maru serves colorful, flavorful rolls with that POW vibrant sushi look. Patio’s excellent, servers are solid, and it’s the best sushi on the East Side.

The food here is SO GOOD! I ordered here for the first time, and I'll admit I was a bit nervous that it wouldn't still be hot since I order it togo, but it ended up being hot and such a yummy dish. And the lady who serviced me (I want to say her name was Kat?) was so sweet! My family and I just moved so and our things haven't come in yet and she made sure that we had silverware, condiments, and lots of napkins in our bag. She also left a little note wishing us a wonderful day. 10/10 experience, I will be back!!
