We visited MDRD for after dinner drinks at the bar. They have a good selection of top shelf beverages. Here’s the issue. It’s one thing to say the drinks are way overpriced- they are. We assumed they would be. But when 4 of us are seated at the bar, ordering drinks ($20+ per drink) and big $$$ deserts- and they charged us $2/ drink for ice…..ICE! Are you kidding me? To me- that’s a lack of respect for their clientele.
If you are going to blow a bunch of money on a restaurant, this is the one to do it on. Got the octopus and loved it. If you want to enjoy the highest views publicly accessible in grand rapids, then you can simply pull up to the bar and order a few drinks. Very nice!!
Great place if you are on a mission to impress your date or if you are looking for a relaxed evening and good food. The drinks were impressive and the right measurements to my taste. The food portion looks small, but it turned out to be just right. Tania was helping me, and she was able to share suggestions based on what I was looking for.
