“my wife and I have eaten her a few times in the last couple months. it is a real cosy and comfortable restaurant with a good menu. I can personally speak for the Walleye, prime rib and BBQ ribs. they were all excellent! service is just right with friendly servers. I recommend the Winter Inn restaurant.“

“The food is always fresh and the drinks are cold. The servers do a great job and you never wait very long. My friend and I visit a few times a year together, but they visit far more often as it’s a block away from home. I have never had an issue with the food. The poutine is my favorite. The fries are fresh and the curds are large. Last night, a Thursday night, I was charged $6 extra for olive juice and 4 olives. I have never ordered anything but a vodka martini and I was always charged a flat $4-$5 for well drinks. I should add they do not carry vermouth. As you see on the receipt, we were charged for the vodka and then charged again for the martini. I know that some upscale bars do this regularly, but again, I’ve never been charged that way at the horses mouth. Ever. My friend was not charged for their Diet Coke, so why for olive juice? Makes no sense to me. I won’t be drinking at the tavern anymore, especially because when I brought it to the attention of the wait staff, they acted like I was being extra. That’s $3 extra per drink for a few tablespoons of olive juice and 2 olives. You can buy a whole bottle of olive mixer for $5 and a jar of olives is about the same. Needless to say, the bar tender did not get a tip from me, other than this: “if you’re suddenly going to up charge without saying a thing, then consider that your tip friend.”“
