I thoroughly enjoyed going to the new Martha Washington Bakery. I was able to get some authentic Polish desserts and I got to sample a couple of the items that I got. It's a very clean place, the owner was very engaging and I walked out with some wonderful Polish desserts and cookies that I'll be bringing back to Ohio with me when I leave on Monday from Hamtramck Michigan.
First things first, my mom and busia, who are straight from Poland, give the New Martha Washington Bakery paczki two enthusiastic thumbs up. And you know what? So do I! They've got like 22+ flavors each year from a few different creams/custards to fruits and jams. I did a baker's dozen filled with chocolate and vanilla custards, raspberry and black raspberry, apricot, cherry, strawberry, rose and apple. Excellent service, tasty treats, and very reasonable prices. A huge slice of cake or brownie (more than enough to split between two people) is only $3.50. Cookies are $1.50 or $10 per pound
