We have been dining at Hunan Gardens on a regular basis since 2006. We have ALWAYS had a good dining experience here. We live approximately 35 miles away, but we will drive all the way there knowing we will have another delicious meal, excellent service with a clean, cozy ambiance. There are numerous Asian options on the regular menu, but I will occasionally ask for the 'authentic Chinese menu' when I am feeling more adventurous. The cold pork stomach on that menu is delicious.

First time there. Absolutely wonderful food, that eggplant and shrimp is addictive! The little server robot was so cute. Our human server was amazing. Ill be back!

I’m using one of my accounts to let everyone know that they need to give this place a try and if you ever have issues with staff or in general talk to the owner Francis she is phenomenal and a great owner that cares for her customers I haven’t wrote a official review because I want to come here quite a few times so that I give a complete honest actuate review but this I can say, I do wish the price for pad tai was cheaper but I also love it but If it was I’d be there almost everyday, They are worth the visit and my personal favorite from them is tofu pad tai and wanton soup try these if you get the chance this tofu is different and actually compliments the pad tai, The owner is a wonderful woman with a big heart, I am currently visiting right now and after a few more visits I will give another review! Take care everyone enjoy the food and good hospitality

Pretty standard fare for American Chinese restaurants. Extensive menu probably over-reach. Friendly staff, good service, clean surroundings, but food just ok. Dumplings a bit heavy (on the doughy side), and the fish I ordered - chefs special- was not a filet in ginger sauce (as described) but breaded fish nuggets in a kind of ginger gravy. Filling and tasted ok but not the special promised. If you're looking for a standard Chinese restaurant this is your place. If you're looking for more than that keep looking.

After my last review I received a phone call from the owner of Hunan Gardens. She expressed her sincerest apology and great empathy in relation to what had happened in my previous experience. I was impressed that she realized who I was and expressed that she was also disappointed in the service that I had received. She expressed that she did not want to lose me as a customer, and that she would like to rectify the situation as best as possible. I few days later I received a $50 gift certificate in the male; she requested that I give them another shot. Due to her diligence in pursuing a solution I decided to return to the restaurant and place another order. Usually my orders are large orders from Hunan Gardens. Needless to say the food was superb and flawless! I am very grateful, as a customer, that she took the time out of her day to reach out and make things right. The food was perfect and very delightful. This restaurant is a popular restaurant in Kalamazoo; they have a very large client base. It says a lot that time was made to correct what had been done.I recommend that everyone in the Kalamazoo area venture over to Hunan Gardens and try something from their menu. I usually get the sautéed green beans, shrimp and broccoli, shrimp rolls (2-4), shrimp fried rice, chicken fried rice, crabmeat rangoons, and chicken lo mein. Other great items on the menu that I sometimes order are the beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, house crispy chicken, and the pepper steak with onions.
