La familia cafe is a great spot with great food but with prices/portions that are left desirable. My wife and I use to frequently order breakfast from there but with price increases its hard to go out of the way for them. Breakfast tacos are ordered singularly when it advertises as plural. Parking is almost always atrocious as they are always on a busy street in downtown so wither you find something or are left circling around the block for 15-30 minutes.

Absolute gem in downtown for fast, friendly, and authentic Mexican food. The staff have a lot of passion for their work. The Birria Tacos, Gorditas, and Chips and Salsa (local award winning) are all to die for.

This was an excellent place to stop on my Amtrak/Indian Trails layover in the city. It's close to the train station and served delicious, affordable food in a warm atmosphere. I had a great conversation with the owner about what to see in the city I was going to and the staff made sure I was well taken-care of. 10/10 will be back next time I'm in Kalamazoo.
