The Colonel's Kitchen is a nice little diner in the former Colonial Kitchen location. Under new ownership, it has re-opened as Colonel Kitchen. The restaurant has a military theme because the new owner went to West Point, and it has a large mural on the wall. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are generous. The service is friendly and prompt, and the place is very clean. The menu is very rich. Meals mentioned include potato pancakes, an omelet, eggs benedict, the 6 egg chorizo omelette, pancakes, toast, a burger and fries, and sausage by Detroit Links. The BBQ sauce on the burger was exquisite. The blueberry syrup on pancakes was available. The owner and manager come out saying hello. There is a back room that is perfect to hang out in, and there is no need to pay to rent it out. Overall, it is a great breakfast place and a local option for breakfast.
