“First time here, Good beer selection, good burgers. Service was very slow, they were pretty busy. They were very apologetic about the wait, so maybe just a fluke. We'll still go back again, very "up North dive bar" vibe, we enjoyed it!“

The food is great and not overpriced. Alex is one of the best servers and my girls love her. She treats us like family and works so hard always making sure we have everything we need. “I have family that live in Bad Axe I visit a couple times a year. Every time I visit I must eat Rachel's. I love the decor with the fireplace that adds to the aviance. The food is always delicious. I always try new things. This last time I had an avocado appetizer. It was out of this world. Loved it so much I went back the next day and ordered it again. The wait staff are extremely nice and come back to the table several times to make sure you are well taken care of. If I could give Rachel more stars I would.“

“My favorite hole in the wall to get some beers! Friendly staff that are more like friends, no drama and less of a mess than the other "popular" bar in Bad Axe. Cheap drinks, strong drinks, and a pleasant vibe. Thank you Petes Bar for being my go to spot for the last few years!“

“While traveling through the thumb of Michigan, Shelley’s was a great find. It was a Wednesday at noon and nobody was open till we found Shelley’s.We were greeted right away and our server friendly and cheerful. Had the Prime Rib Philly wrap. It was enough for the two of us. Delicious.If you are in the area it is worth checking out.“

“This was a fun restaurant with an enclosed, vibrant, outdoor seating area. I liked how they had lots of games available to play outdoors - cornhole, mini archery, a putt-putt hole, a giant chess set, play swords. They also had a pool table inside that was no charge to use. There was a separate bar outside and it was a really fun atmosphere. Some of the equipment was getting a little run down, but I liked it still.Food was good, solid, no issues. Pricing was reasonable to slighy high.“

“First time to this restaurant. Was pleasantly surprised. We had the pizza special for Monday with small antipasto salad. Pizza was 4 slices of deep dish with choice of 2 toppings. Pizza was delicious, salad was huge. Will definitely come back to this local restaurant. By the way it’s attached to a hotel.“

“Raised along the waterway of Michigan. Was looking for fresh perch. I've had it at three other restaurants on my trip. Fireside had the best by far. I went to a local restaurant in town of Port Austin called the Bank and had their perch dinner there which was very overpriced, where as the Fireside had exactly same dinner with more perch it was tastier and fillets were larger, and priced lower. If I'm in the area that is where I'm going to go to eat, at the Fireside!!Wheelchair accessibility: Absolutely love the atmosphere. If the restaurant is full there is a covered area so you won't be out in the weather.Very relaxing and homey restaurant log cabin styled.“
