Tilted Axis Brewing Company Brewery • $$

“We always love going to Tilted Axis. Our bike club meets there year-round every Wednesday to go ride the local trails, and after our rides we have some of the excellent beer and pizza here. The owner Tom treats us well, and the waitstaff is second to none in service, even when they're busy. The upstairs is nice but can get loud with a big party, and the patio is great in summer - that's my favorite place to hang out.“

“Absolutely the best food we've had in a hot minute. We were skeptical at first, and thought it was like all the other restaurants, and we were wrong. Food was delicious, hot, and service was great! Definitely coming back here if we end up in the area again.Kid-friendliness: Kids are most definitely welcome here.“

Sawdust Corners Tavern Bar • $

“It was a great place to sit outside for about 20 minutes and before with an electrical problem in my vehicle since I don't drink I didn't really go inside or have the urge to but I assume it's a nice place there was two cars there it wasn't empty feeling it was 3 4:00 in the afternoon I'm sure you couldn't expect too many people getting hammered but I couldn't say either way nobody messed with me I got done what I had to do and could charge my phone when I left. I I'm sure Google isn't looking for that type of review but that's what I've got. I didn't put me in the top 10%, so somebody's reading this stuff“

“As a BBQ connoisseur, I've come to know the difference between good BBQ and great BBQ. I'll have to come in and try additional things before I fully label it, but from my first trip, it's definitely on the cusp of great BBQ. When I make my own briskets, ribs, pork, chicken, etc. I tend to stick to a very strong smoke profile and most places you can barely taste that anything has smoke to it. The brisket here is definitely done more correctly than any other place I have been in Michigan. Great flavor, great smoke profile, great sauces. Waitress was really awesome in explaining the different offerings, beer selections, and specials. Fries did taste like they were under the heat lamp too long but the wife's food didn't get prepared due to a printer malfunction, no problem, not docking points for that.My only take away here was the noise level. Huge 20 top sitting in the middle of the dining room made it horrible getting around and the noise from a bunch of people getting smashed and loudly cackling was unbearable at times. My wife and I both left with a headache. Some noise dampening would go along way. Seems that the way it is setup the noise just carries. Big parties should be isolated when possible. Looked like there was an additional room that could have accommodated that but either way, it was just too loud in that middle room.“

“Local hangout. Great selection of whiskey, probably the best I have seen in Lapeer. Service from the bar tender could have been better. The east bar was all regulars, we sat at the west bar, which is on the other side of the wall. She was focused on the regulars and we were forgotten. Pizza is good, salsa Verde and chips were excellent. Guacamole was so, so.“

“Some of the construction on I-69 took my brother and I a bit off our standard route which was frustrating as heck until we found this diamond in the rough. It's a bar. Note that it's clean and the bar staff were friendly. It's a bar and we were sitting right up at it. Got to see all of our lunch being prepped, griddled and fried. Really big burgers guys. They have a smaller size, but the big ones? Well, they're big. I'm not complaining. Lunch ended up covering dinner. Local bar of course. Everyone seemed to know everyone, but they were plenty accepting of us. Over all. It's a bar (did I mention that yet?). Don't expect more. But on Saturday afternoon, that was plenty good enough for me.“

“I had the beer battered cod. It was absolutely delicious. The breading is so thin it doesn't distract from the fish. The baked sweet potato was huge & delicious as was the Cole slaw. I ordered a piece of carrot cake to go, it was so big I split it with my daughter.“
