I have celiac and asked if the potatoes were gluten free on the breakfast buffet. The waitress came back and said they weren’t. But the chef came out and said he could pan fry some hash browns for me so they would be safe for me to eat. Very nice that I didn’t even have to ask and they made them for me.
Giving a great review as they earned some redemption after past poor reviews. Sat at the bar, place was dead, almost left to walk down the street and try something with higher reviews but decided to stay. Bartender was friendly and attentive enough. Ordered the Steak Frites with little expectations. Food came out within 10 minutes, hot and fresh. My first thought was that the dish looked like it was outdated, fries just had flaky salt and parsley, maybe some truffle oil and Parmesan...
Fries were hot and crisp with pillowy center and the chicken sandwich was craggy and delicious. Place was dead mid week for a conference but much better than years prior. Would I order the porterhouse? Probably not, but I still recommend.
