We enjoyed a fabulous dinner tonight in the gem of Round Island Kitchen. The “ fall menu” did not disappoint! I enjoyed Salmon prepared with squash purée and lentils. My husband loved the pan-roasted chicken served with barley, squash and spinach. Dessert of Pear cake and Espresso Martini finished our evening. We could not give higher praise to the kitchen or the wait staff. Hurry to see them before the 3024 season comes to a close.

Ate food here about a week ago, great service and great experience. 10/10 would recommend. The manager, Justin, is very friendly and his hospitality was great.

Enjoyed most of our meals at the Round island and the service was great! By the end of the week the manager Justin was like a friend. He always checked on us and would offer meal suggestions and even gave us ideas on things to do during our stay. He’s a gem!!

My wife, son, and I arrived the other night and were looking to get dinner at the only place open. The restaurant was to close in little over an hour so I am wondering if that affected the quality. To start, there was no host to seat us though several staff made eye contact. We ended up asking the front desk of the resort and they were great helping us out. Once we did get a table, our server was great and attentive. The food quality was not at the standards advertised. My young son got chocolate milk where it was more chocolate syrup than milk (sides of the cup were coated in syrup). My wife's pan roasted chicken was surprising too, half a chicken breast. I get the marked up costs for importing foods, tourism and what not, but chicken breast is one of the more affordable meats so I'm not sure why you only get a half a chicken breast for that plate for the price, but we were told that is how it's done. Finally to my entree. I got the beef medallions (rare) with risotto. The risotto was definitely undercooked. It was crunchy and grainy, and barely edible. The first medallion was a perfect beautiful rare, but the other one was almost near raw (there were uncooked red spots on the outside of the medallion). I don't know if they weren't in the pan at the same time, but I was surprised by the inconsistency. We also got the smoked whitefish dip. We liked that alot though it almost needs more tomato jam to balance out the salty and savoryness of the dip. We want to try out Chiantis but we are worried they may share the same kitchen and get the same quality food as last night. We did have someone stop by and ask about the quality of the food, but we were so exhausted from the trip up that we didn't want to debate how our food was. Given that other reviews are more positive, maybe we just got unlucky.

My husband and I spent a weekend in Mackinac island for our baby-moon for our first child. We did not stay at Mission Point Resort, but we decided to have a special dinner at the Round Island Kitchen. We arrived early around 6, ( since it was so rainy and cold outside!) and were seated at the best spot in the restaurant in the front window overlooking the famous gazebo and front lawn to the lake views. The waiter was very attentive and accommodating to what we needed. We got the roasted chicken dish and the perch dish. The food arrived quickly and each tasted delicious. The price of each was around $32, very affordable for the area and atmosphere. Live music was playing, the tables were spaced out well, and it was a relaxing romantic evening. We sat right in front of the bar counter and it was still quiet. Each meal was also served with a fresh salad which was w great beginning. I heard great things about the pretzel and grape appetizer but we didn’t try it this time. The waiter suggested the ice cream boat dessert and I am so glad we tried it! It was perfect for two and tasted fantastic. Such a great end to the night! We enjoyed our dinner and sat by the fireplaces in the huge lodge to warm up before heading out to our lodging for bed.

My family and I ate at Mission Pointe Round Island for dinner one night while staying on Mackinac Island and the food was absolutely amazing and the service was even better! The manager Justin took the time to stop by our table and asked how everything was and to see if we needed anything. He actually gave us a few ideas of what to see while on the island. He was very courteous and knowledgeable about the island! We will definitely be coming back in the future all thanks to the manager Justin at the Round Island Kitchen! He’s the best!

The greatest pro of this restaurant is that it does allow dogs outside and since we were traveling with our dogs, that was a relief. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't that great and so we were a bit chilly. We decided to order the two fish dinners. The hazelnut walleye was the absolute winner of the night, although our server really enjoyed the white fish and highly recommended that. The tomato and spinach side tasted like a spinach artichoke dip with tomato and that was delicious as well as the asparagus. However, the fish itself was very fishy and not to my taste. The hazelnut walleye was not fishy and it had an excellent crunch. It definitely was the winner of the two dishes and would highly recommend that.

We always stay at Mission Point when we are in Mackinac and we've had numerous meals at the Round Island Kitchen. The setting is beautiful with huge, expansive windows looking out over Lake Huron. Our service has always been top notch and the food is good as well. We really appreciate that kids under 12 eat free with the purchase of an adult entree. If the weather is nice, try to get a seat on the deck or grab a drink at the bar near the beautiful windows. Before or after eating here, spend some time reading by the fire in the Mission Point lobby. The architecture is stunning and the vibes are so cozy, especially in the fall!

The bright spot of Mackinac Island was the Round Island Kitchen at Mission Point. Definitely ask for a window seat if available. The food was not "really" overpriced and very tasty with good sized portion. The service was outstanding, especially with our server Damion. Sitting on the chairs on the lawn after was so relaxing we almost missed the carriage ride back to the docks

What a wonderful dinner experience after a long day of walking around Mackinac Island. Our server, Kevin was amazing. Personable, professional, and attentive. He went above and beyond to make our dining experience enjoyable. Rick, the manager was on top of everything and offered us a good choice with the boat of ice cream for dessert. The chef brought out our food personally and it was plated beautifully. Recommend highly.

Ordered a $55 steak and this steak had every temperature in it. I ordered it medium and I had parts that were well done, and rare. The potatoes were raw. Extremely disappointed for the price of this restaurant and the quality of the food. I would never go back.

First this restaurant is off to the side which made it a more intimate and quiet dining experience away from the crowds of the Main Street. The food was delicious; we had the hazelnut walleye and the pork porterhouse. Finished with the seasonal chai and pumpkin panna cotta. All the food was cooked to perfection and the service was fantastic. Highly recommend the Round Island Kitchen!!

We experienced the Round Island Kitchen while staying at the Mission Point Resort. In all fairness, let me preface this review by stating that we visited late in September, and at a destination aimed mostly at Summer tourism, help may be sparse in the Fall. Our meals came under a resort package and the selections on the menu looked good. Day #1: Upon our arrival for dinner we saw a near empty dining area. We were asked if we had reservations, advised that they had almost no seating left, and were seated in the bar area. The intended plan was for the bartenders, currently very busy with evening drink requests, were to be our waiter/waitresses as well. The plan did not work well. We waited nearly 20 minutes to get some water. The food, when it finally arrived was surprisingly poor for a resort of this size and reputation. Not being from the area, I tried the whitefish, which came with a surround of mashed potato (which had been under the heater for a bit) and a tomato prepared with an artichoke dressing. The fish had been left under the heaters much like the potato, and the tomato side didn’t make the grade. My wife had the squash ravioli, which was excessively spiced and did not allow one to enjoy the flavor of the raviolis themselves. We finished with a pumpkin tiramisu, which was delicious, but presented more like limp pudding on a flat plate. The AM of day #2 we had breakfast. We were again met with the reservation and limited seating story and again seated near the bar. With the decrease need of primary bar tending, the service was very good. We both had a continental style breakfast which was very good, the juice and coffee came immediately after seating. My suggestion is to enjoy breakfast here, but off season you might want to consider going in town for dinner.
