The place looks great. It’s old, the décor is interesting, and it has a cozy atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. The only reason for giving it 3 stars is the music—it was too loud. I was seated right next to the piano, which wasn’t very pleasant. Since the restaurant was full, I didn’t have the opportunity to move. When the music is loud, people tend to compensate by speaking louder, and before long, it becomes a room full of tables shouting...
If you’ve had foie gras in Europe, this isn’t the same thing. It tastes more like fatty bone marrow than a patê. Atmosphere is excellent; a classy 1920s vibe with piano player. Surcharges are added on at the end for building preservation and “CC” service. Overall a nice experience with a couple small disappointments. plan to pay at least $100 per person.
We had such a wonderful dinner here. Recommend to us on a carriage ride from a long time visitor. We went on the later side at 8pm. The food was delicious. I got the schnitzel the size of my face and yummy. The atmosphere was lovely. Looking forward to going back someday.
