Wanted to love it. I read several reviews but had a different experience. I ordered the French onion soup because I read it was homemade and wonderful. The onions weren't even cooked and it just didn't have a rich flavor. I also tried the scampi whitefish... zero seasoning. I have never seen so much garlic on one plate and no flavor. Unfortunately, I won't be back.

It's 'well earned' reputation for the best whitefish is absolutely deserved. It does struggle to figure out if it is a bar or fine dining place. The prices are a bit high to serve paper napkins in the dining room. But the location is great and the view is not to be missed. The service is polite. It is a must stop place in Marquette and deservedly earned.

Pros: Pleasant and friendly service, great views, neat ambiance, reasonable prices, and Whitefish Chowder was delicious (after we salted it).

Cons: I don't know what seasoning ever did to this place, but they're having none of it. Two stars for the food because It was edible and no one got sick. Plated well, so we were shocked at the incredible blandness.

Suggestion: Spice it up a little! Even the tartar sauce had a mere whisper of flavor. Hopefully we were just here on an off night. I've had tastier meals in a hospital cafeteria.

We travel to Marquette a few times a year for the last 10+ years and would always stop in for one meal. Now that they require reservations, we hardly go because they are ill equipped to take them requiring you to continuously try to call while they are open. Finally got a reservation last night. We were early so had to wait at the bar even though I saw 4 empty tables for two behind me. 15 minutes later, our table was ready in the upper section where again 2 tables besides ours were empty. Waitress slowly made it to our table and we were ready to order. We ordered an app but she wouldn’t take our full order, said she had to get the app in and would be right back. I watched as she cleared dishes and came back in 5 minutes. Salads came out right away. French dressing had too much vinegar it choked me. Breadsticks were great. NY strip was horrible quality meat, fillet was too dried out. Beans were frozen but ok, red potatoes good. Way too expensive, waitress not good on and bar tab was not on bill so had to pay separately. Won’t be back.

Terrible food experience. We ordered the Nacho Supreme and the cheese wasn't even melted. It looked like they just microwaved it and called it a day. Had the Whitefish Chowder and it was inedible. Had an awful strong odor and didn't have a lick of seasoning. Disappointed is an understatement.

This place was so cozy with wonderful service and food. We loved giving some drinks a try such as their blueberry wheat beer and the apple tini. We loved the whitefish as well, but highly recommend the Cajun variety. Highly recommend checking out this great restaurant.

Great beer even better fish dish. We had made a reservation and got seated next to window. Only thing could have made it better as French Onion soup needed more bread, less salt and more flavors. I had Special of the Day the big fish cake and it was loaded with fish. I slathered it with Sirrachi, it would have been great if offered Blackened. Husband like the Blackened White Fish. Parking is free on the weekends.
