“If you like seared tuna you have to try this place. We stopped for a drink and an appetizer and picked the seared tuna. It was amazing.....cooked perfectly on top of a crunchy wonton drizzled with a citrus soy vinaigrette. The flavors just exploded in your mouth. The service was exceptional and the ambiance is cozy. We will be back.“
“Service was amazing. We were throwing several drinks at the server and she was picking the one she thought we'd like. All the cocktails were super interesting.Food was incredible. Burger had the perfect amount of sweet and savory. French fries were perfect. Detroit style pizza was well done. All of the house liquors were great.“
“Alright, so we've lived in Philly and Chicago, tasted some top-notch food, you know? But The Historian? Man, it's right up there with the best!Started things off with those French deviled eggs – just wow! Then, I went for the tomahawk pork chop, and seriously, it's like they've mastered the art of making pork taste like heaven. Cut into it, and it's as smooth as butter. Me and the hubby gave it a solid "best pork chop ever" vote. ?Hubby tried the hanger steak, and it was pure deliciousness. The flavors, the tenderness – spot on. His old fashioned cocktail was also fabulousAlready planning our next date night at The Historian. It's a no-brainer; we're bringing our friends along for this foodie adventure. Can't wait to dive back into this tasty haven!“
“We were visiting the area due to a baseball tournament and decided to try this place out. I got the Pot Roast French Dip and it was perfect! Tender meat, lots of cheese, yummy sautéed onions and great aus ju! Highly recommend! Also great service!“
“I can’t say enough good things about this place!!! Food, service, atmosphere, decor… all is top tier! It’s perfect for a fancy date night dinner, hanging with friends for a bar night and the outdoor patio is great for a summer hang out. The owner has clearly put her heart and soul along with a lot of time and money into turning this place into I think the best restaurant/bar in at least La Porte and Michigan City and stands toe to toe with Chicago and beyond. Run, don’t walk to this place and enjoy!“
“This place is the restaurant and bar attached to the golf course. The food was good. It's pretty basic fare, chicken fingers, burgers, fries, salads, etc. In addition to being pretty tasty, it's also very price reasonable.Because it's a golf restaurant, you never know when a group of 12 will pop in and the one bartender has to split their attention between a room of different people all coming in 15 minutes apart from each other. They were way too busy to get good service. Not the waitresses fault, just be prepared to wait for drink refills, checks, etc.“
